We often argue about left/right or conservative/progressive (liberal is a misnomer in the classical sense). I thought a little diversion from the standard debates might be interesting. The link to the Political Compass will allow anyone interested to see where their beliefs fall. It assesses your beliefs both economically and socially, take the test to see where you fall.
My score: Economic Left/Right: 6.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.33
I don't claim to be another Milton Friedman, but my score places my political compass beliefs close to his, far right economically and moderate socially.
I go by this. Forget political party. It is no longer based on ideology.
Conservatives are Conservatives.
Liberals are Marxists.
Everyone in between are moderates.
Who people vote for, Democrat or Republican is based on who best represents their own interests, or who is the lesser of the two evils. This past election cycle, the MSM and the RATS made America believe the Democrats were the lesser of two evils.
neat.
Economic Left/Right: 7.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.92
I'm OK with it.
5 Economic (right) and -6 social (libertarian).
Thomas Paine and Milton Friedman and ... no politicians who can live up to that kind of freedom standard. People want to do dangerous self-destructive ignorant things? Legalize it - clean out the gene pool.
Economic Left/Right: 4.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.21
Hey, fun test, KMAJ2. I clocked in at 7.88 economic and 0.36 Social. I can live with that. And it's a good thing -- I have to!
Interesting where they put Bush (above)....
Interesting that Thatcher is just about where Bush is.........
It looks like I am on the "Left-Right axis" just a bit right of the Bulls Eye....
Economic Left/Right: 1.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.26
I guess I'm right smack in the middle.
Economic Left/Right: -0.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.38
My score:
Economic Left/Right: 4.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.26
I'm afraid you'll have to bring a shovel with you...
He died last year.

2.25, -0.15.
Econ 5.5 (might have been higher but I did not have many strong responses because my answers would have been more nuanced)
Auth 1.13 (pro-pot/pro-porn and pro-life/pro-religion cancel each other. Strong pro-life is what tipped it. Sorry, but I don't see defending life as authoritarian.)
Pity, from what I read he was quite an achieved individual.
Sadly, even if he was around, my part of the conversation would probably consist of "Dude, what? Pass the peanuts.."
Economic 10 and Authoritarian 3.49
An economic 10 - Somewhere in the distance I hope Walter Williams is cheering.
I'm just about dead center. Does that make me a true "centrist?"
And in a perfect example of "deranged Moonbattery," Rabbi Morris Margolis of Kansas City, wrote an editorial that nobody should "say Kaddish" (prayers for the dead) over Friedman, because of all the "damage" he caused the world over, because of his political and economic views.

Economic Left/Right: 4.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.49
I guess I would be more "right" if I used "strongly agree" more times.
