I have a term for what happens when someone says something that the liberals use to try to destroy them.
"Brownshirting."
They want to silence Ann just like those Nazi thugs did on the streets of Germany years ago.
But instead of using a mob like the Nazis did the
liberals use their media and politicians to do the job.
Rush Limbaugh's ESPN comments were a perfect example of coordinated liberal media Bownshirting.
And as much as I don't like him on other issues, Trent Lott's Strom Thurmond comments involved "Brownshirting" that cost him his job.
And the White House followed along, not defending Lott.
Republicans should have no part of this campaign against Ann.
Alas, the MSM has a great deal of influence over many Republicans, and many FReepers.
"Republicans should have no part of this campaign against Ann."
But there is a difference between Ann, Rush, and Lott. Lott and Rush have their conservative streak, but they have bent with the wind too often. Ann has been and remains a dyed-in-the-wool conservative, and proves it by calling a spade a spade. Those who backed Rush and Lott were doing so on the basis of defending GOP power. Those who back Ann are doing so on the principle that we ought to be able to call offensively immoral exactly what it is--offensive and immoral--no matter what the PC crowd thinks. Her derisive wording has nothing to do with her excoriation by the 'right' here.
