There has to be a way to trace every vote back to a SSN or some national ID number, and a phone number; we need a voters' bill of rights and that, i.e. knowing that your're not simply sitting there voting against dead and/or fictional people, has to be part of it.

You left off one very important letter. It's not "vote" but voteR" that needs to be traceable to a real person. Once that person is identified, the secrecy of their actual VOTE needs to be secure. Note that it is the Democrats who are campaigning AGAINST a requirement for photo ID for voting.
