Ann Coulter Slams Edwards With Anti-Gay Slur
Hotline ^ | 3/2/07

Posted on 03/02/2007 3:46:10 PM PST by areafiftyone

"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I — so kind of an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards," Ann Coulter said today at CPAC. Her audience seemed to to evince both shock and delight.

The Human Rights Campaign's Joe Solomnese was not happy.

“To interject this word into American political discourse is a vile and disgusting way to sink the debate to a new, all-time low. Make no doubt about it, these remarks go directly against what our Founding Fathers intended and have no place on the schoolyard, much less our country’s political arena.”

Next, there'll be calls for Republican candidates to disassociate themselves from Coulter's remarks. Unfairly, ex-MA Gov. Mitt Romney faces the biggest burden: he spoke right before Coulter and praised her... not knowing what she planned to say.

These wussies really need to get over themselves.

And they wonder why they can't win any elections? Maybe they need to grow a pair and throw the mud back that has been aimed at Conservatives.

Do they really think Hillary isn't going to be playing real hardball when she wants to without any complaints from the MSM?!

No really. I just got out of the hospital, now my wife is sick, and I haven't seen any news about Duncan.

My apologies!!! I thought you were makiing a point about Ann eclipsing everything.

Looks like the best Hunter-at-CPAC site. Has a link to the audio of his speech.

lol, she's really making the Republicans looking good. I can just imagine Rove, etc., freaking out, because the GOP wants to be more moderate, and then you have her go off on some tirade, immediately following a high-profile GOP candidate.

For all of her bluster, I wonder if she would repeat some of the things she's said to Dick Cheney's face.

I think Ann joined GOP version of the Michael Moore/Al Franken/Janeane Garofolo nasty and embarrassing invective contingent some time ago. She has jumped the shark.

We still have the smart and witty Mark Steyn, though.

>>All you Duncan Hunter people are missing the point.

Ann has taken the attention off anything Hunter said today.

There will be no mention of him of any significance in the MSM. <<

For what its worth I watched Fox all this afternoon and even after Hunter came in strong in the straw poll, Fox didn't even mention him. I'm not a big Ann Coulter fan but the media's reaction to Hunter is not her fault.

You are truly clueless. Her audience and those that buy her books are those that like truth and aren't afraid to speak it - in spite of the walking on eggs PC world. Every time she does it, she get ridiculed. She knows it will happen and she doesn't care. That is hardly the actions of someone with a NEED to be liked. She knows they are hypocrites and that's why she does it.

I don't care how many homes she has.

Hey - YOU brought it up saying that's why she needs to be liked because her homes aren't cheap. NOW YOU SAY YOU DON'T CARE? WHY did you bring it up?

"Sodomite" is fairly descriptive and more accurate.

I agree...I have loved a lot of Ann's work...but notice how Arnold did it with MUCH more finesse when he said "girly-men." It was ambiguous...could just mean wimpy men. Could also mean....

Ann was vulgar.

"because the GOP wants to be more moderate"

Well if the Dems are liberal and moderate, and now the Rep are trying to be moderate, where do us Conservatives go?

She hogged the spotlight.

You give her way too much credit and WRONGLY blame her for what the media is doing.

It's the MSM that will use any diversion possible to refrain from spotlighting a conservative running for president.

WHY did you bring it up?

I will connect the dots for you:

1) You said Ann didn't need to be liked.

2) I said, oh, yes, she does. She needs the money.

3) I illustrated by her real estate...and the fact that she is very effective and funding it.

4) Ergo...she NEEDS to be liked to get the cash.

5) My issue was with your saying she doesn't NEED to be liked.

6) Oh, yes, she does...by people like you who fork out the cash.

I believe in free speech but it's just stupid for her to use the word - - especially at CPAC.

Ann knows how to sell books to folks who will fork over the cash.

When you go to the bookstore, do you fork over cash or is it free?

It really grates that she often wears a big cross around her neck when she spews her crude remarks during speeches. Hey, maybe she's angling to be the right-wing version of Madonna! Nah, Madonna never claimed to be a true believer.

In replying to my post - You cannot admit you wrongly accused her of grabbing the spotlight so you come back at me with that LIBERAL spin. Explain your reply.

Exactly.

I'm tired of defending the GOP from charges that we're nothing but a pack of ignorant bigots.

Skeletor in a miniskirt? She ain't helping.
