Can I ask you something ? do you remember a few years ago, on one of them shows were they tried to explain away the Jews leaving Egypt, and crossing of the Red Sea ? and how they tried to give it a natural twist on it ? and that they tried to show that it really didn't take much of a miracle of what happen at the Red Sea ?
What the conclusion that they came to was, that it was the shortest route to the land of Canaan, that, they might have crossed at the delta, marsh land area.
They interpreted it ( RED SEA ) as REED SEA, reeds of the marsh lands.
They said it could have been a low tide, and some kind of tsunami that allowed them to cross.
What they are trying to do is under cut people's faith, and to doubt the Bible.
Here is the TRUE RED SEA crossing.
Here is the evidence, you can draw you own conclusions, I truly believe that this is the true RED SEA crossing, and not what those ( Discovery Channel ) show try to have to believe, and this area is not what has been the traditional are of were people have believe of the Red Sea crossing.

Tradition had us to believe that mount Sinai was on the Sinai peninsula ( between Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba ) the Wilderness of Sinai.
The Apostle Paul even told us were mount Sinai is in Galatians 4:25
Mount Sinai is in Arabia.
All these shows and movies are designed to do is discredit the Bible and Christianity, but, God has the last word, and the Bible is true.

There has been a constant stream of this stuff for quite some time. It is an attempt to steer people from the truth.

A man sat reading his Bible and smiling. Another man asked him why he was smiling. He replied, " I've just read about God parting the Red Sea for His children to cross over.
The other man said, "surely you don't believe that - they crossed the Reed Sea and it is only a few inches deep"
"Oh I see", said the first man.
A few minutes later the 2nd man saw the first man smiling again and asked him why. He replied, "I'm smiling because our father drowned Phraroah and his army in a few inches of water".

They interpreted it (RED SEA) as REED SEA, reeds of the marsh lands. I don't pretend to be able to read either ancient Hebrew or Greek (or modern for that matter) but doesn't the RED/REED thing only work in English?
