The same could be said for the supporters of Mayor Giuliani that have posted vicious, shrill messages calling anyone who disagrees with their candidate names.
Look at the last 3 pages of this thread - even if someone questions the Mayor's positions on gun control, abortion, or McCain-Feingold, they get shouted down and called names.
One poster spits on those who think abortion is an important issue. Another one appears to hate those who put their religious faith above their political party and even gloats about it.
I think the supporters of Mayor Giuliani have been far more hateful and angry than those who question his positions and level of conservativeness (with the exception of MadIvan, who does post thoughtfully and argues facts, not emotions).

I can't agree with that.
There's plenty of individual name calling on both sides, typical of spats.
But there have been broad based characterizations of Rudy's supporters as promoting homosexuality, abortionists, traitors, et al. I haven't seen that from the other side.
And that's not true. Most simply consider the wot, leadership, and/or fiscal issues a priority.
Fortunately I haven't seen the anti-Rudy's nameing the anti-Guiliani true conservative candidate they expect to emerge and slay Rudy. I'd hate to see anyone in the race tarred by association.

I agree. It's clear that adherence to conservative principles is somehow considered worthy of disdain by some here. It's puzzling at best.
