Exactly! Never understood someone being called a draft dodger when they received deferrments that were above board and legal.

Cool! I'll tag along online, much like you did when I went to Denmark. :)

I'm not at all for bannings myself, and I don't see a lot of calls for bannings. But I think they won't mind if people "self-ban".

Careful, Nittany Lion seems to take exception to posters noting the various differences between male and female freepers.

This thread is moving so fast, I am missing many good points. We all know which ones stick out the most though. It's sad that it is coming to this.

I used to love a calm discussion on the Mars landings, or the threads on our troops progress and heroic actions. They have pretty much disappeared on this forum. It's going down hill like a Semi load of Hogs with no brakes.

Two in college OMG have you been able to afford a decent meal lately? :^)

My two boys are five years apart so at least they were not in college at the same time. The younger will be done this term so HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN.

After this overwhelmingly positive reception it looks as though Rudy has this sowed up. Expect the Implacables to go wild with envy, lies and hatred now. You ain't seen nothing yet.

You don't have any problem with it, but (you go on to say) it's inappropriate? And where is she showing "a regular basis" of noting other posters' genders??

Those days as a prosecutor are showing through when he speaks. He also keeps your attention and doesn't give a slow speech which I detest. I like animated speakers that make their points. I love hearing him speak and cannot say that about many politicians.

They are all States Rights issues and Rudy believes in the constitution and States Rights.. ergo, what he believes personally is not important to me as long as he appoints constructionist judges to the SCOTUS (unlike Hillary who would appoint more Ginsbergs and doesn't necessarily believe in States rights).

That's what I can't wait for, having already seen a great number of them locally. Giuliani eats the press for lunch. Total mutual loathing, and Giuliani nukes them 100 percent of the time.

Funny you should mention that..........on another forum a poster commented upon the Rudy-friendly NY media when he was mayor.......after I picked myself up off the floor where I fell from laughing so hard I 'splained the facts to him....

He didn't like it, but knowing I'm originally from NY and a former reporter, he had to accept my word for it...liberals really hate when that happens, that a bias is shown by the media :)

You;re right; I think the forum owner would prefer that Rudy supporters self ban and the evidence of that was pretty evident the other night. And that's all I will say about the matter.

IF you believe, as Rudy apparently does, that being gay is normal, healthy, and good for society, then why would you oppose allowing people who were gay to get the government benefit of living together in a committed relationship?

Because I don't believe that. I just don't think that there is much we can do from a public policy standpoint to remedy the incidedence of homosexuality, that's all.

To not hate something doesn't mean I think it is normal, healthy, and good. Honestly, I don't think Rudy has used those words, but I admit I am unsure.

But it is perfectly right and necessary for us to discuss openly, honestly, and frankly the harm to society caused by the gay lifestyle,

No disagreement there. I just don't think there is a public policy component to satisfactorily address the desires of many conservatives when it comes to dealing with homosexuals. It can't be legislated or taxed away. It's always been here and probably always will be, even if it burns some holy roller asses a bit (poor choice of words, maybe).

There isn't anything we as a government can do to address two women who meet at a bar and pair off to a bedroom somewhere for some of their own brand of fun and frolic. I can't say this bothers me all that much. Does it bother you? And what makes that 'conservative?'

Watching Romney speak now.

I'll give Giuliani this: He's not a slimy as Mitt. Faint praise, I know, but there you go.

His speech is a parody. It's a liberal's idea of what a candidate should say to a conservative audience.

If he pisses of the Left so damned much, maybe he DOES belong at CPAC!

I was doing a Google search of older Giuliani stories, and came across the most amazing leftist attacks on him when he was mayor...Pictures of him with a Hitler mustache (a favorite among the lefties) labeled "Adolph Giuliani"; calling him "Hitler on the Hudson," and so forth. I figure if the left is that mad at him, he must have done some things right in NYC.

Thank you for coming out of lurk mode to explain that. We see that type post every day on multiple threads and have given up trying to explain the media detests Rudy.

I don't think women are as hung up on gun rights for example,

And if I had to pinpoint major problems I have with Rudy - that would be number 1 on my list.

I've watched a few of those myself. A lot of empty chairs at his press conferences. The media not only loathes PM Harper, they're scared of how many times he will run rings around them.
