Hillary's losing Hollywood (resorts to threats)
The Australian ^ | March 3, 2004 | Robert Lusetich in Los Angeles

Posted on 03/02/2007 8:39:54 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

...While many Democratic movers and shakers in the film industry felt they owed Clinton their loyalty, there was a gnawing feeling that it would be no simple task to get one of the most polarising political figures of our times back into the White House.

....Of more concern for Clinton's campaign, her prospects against the likely Republican opponents have grown bleak. Less than a month ago, she was running in a virtual dead heat with the leading Republican, former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has yet to declare his candidacy. The Rasmussen and Zogby polls taken last weekend have Giuliani ahead by as much as nine percentage points.

.... Since 1989, Hollywood has given more than $US100million ($127 million) to Democrats for federal campaigns alone; this is on par with what the oil and gas industry has raised for Republicans in that time.

Some Obama supporters have noted that Clinton's fall in the polls coincided with last week's slanging match instigated by Hollywood billionaire David Geffen, a former Clinton confidant who is now backing Obama. Geffen, who is openly gay and a contentious figure himself, was scathing in his criticism of the Clintons, questioning Bill Clinton's moral compass and saying he believes the Republicans see Hillary Clinton as the easiest candidate to defeat.

...Clinton's campaign was outraged that Obama got in first - though Clinton will raise at least that much at a fundraiser next month - and word around town is that her supporters are being told that there will be no tolerance for spreading the wealth to other Democratic candidates. One insider says people are being warned that ambassadorships go to those who were there from the beginning and didn't waver in their faith.

But such warnings don't appear to have stemmed the tide.............

I can see the news story now:

Yesterday morning, David Geffen,
reputed head of the infamous
Hollywood Gay Mafia "Family",
awoke to find the severed head
of his prize winning sheep in
bed with him....

Have I missed soemthing? Has Giulliani announced he is running?

Oh, puhleez!

Ask 100 people on the street if Giuliani is running. About 20 will say "Julie Who?", 79 will say "Heck, yeah!" and 1 will say "I'm Rudy's Mom, and he hasn't said anything to me yet!".

"I don't think that another incredibly polarising figure, no matter how smart she is and no matter how ambitious she is - and god knows, is there anybody more ambitious than Hillary Clinton? - can bring the country together," [Geffen] told The New York Times. "Everybody in politics lies," he said about the Clintons. "But they do it with such ease, it's troubling."

Should be repeated loudly and often!

She is SUCH a dangerous, power-hungry beotch! Loathe Him, despise Her.

My point is he won't peak early if he doesn't announce early., The speculative fever will only grow and if he times it properly he can go into the primary season with a huge, HUGE lead in the polls.

Hillary's yesterday's news to some extent."

This may be her biggest deficit in Hollywood, where the fluff-brains scurry after novelty like a pack of lemmings.

Can we get a comment from the "fear Hillary, vote RINO" contingent?

I couldn't help but notice your tagline, alarm rider.

I have a question for you. It is not my purpose to be confrontational. I really would like to know how you parse things to reconcile this dilemma with your sense of morality.

If 'voting your conscience' helps elect hillary clinton, how can that really be 'voting your conscience'?? Said another way, how can anyone with a conscience vote to put the clintons back in the Oval Office?
