"So, who are you supporting in the upcoming primaries?"

actually, I'm going to support the person that looks like they can win. Right now to me that looks like Rudy. IF a Draft Tom Coburn movement starts maybe I could change my mind.

He's a protectionist.

No, he opposes setting up trade deals that are designed to subsidize imports. He also opposes socializing risks that are unaccounted externalities to selected imports.

We know how your people work. It's going to take time, but we'll get around you RINOs, if only to stop you from electing Democrats, or worse.

There you go FairOpinion. We were all just tossed out of the far right wing's massive pup tent. Aren't you sad? I am. Must be fun in there now. A handful of holier than thou art know-it-alls all slapping each other on the back.

I don't seek out McCain threads to trash him, though - like you seem to to trash Rudy

I'd like you to show me one post where I've trashed Rudy. And not just spoke the truth regarding his policies, but called him names like you did with McCain.

"We were all just tossed out of the far right wing's massive pup tent. "

That's no "right wing tent" -- them's the DICC-s (Democrats in Conservative Clothing) who never, ever have a single negative thing to say about Democrats, but constantly bash any Republican who could actually defeat them.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1613957/posts?page=87#87

"But the pretend-conservative act is being carried onto a whole new playing field, one that has become wildly influential over the past few years and one that does not stand to be instantly recognized as a fake. That playing field is the blogosphere, which is then used in conjunction with massive e-mailings to “spread the word” (as one e-mailer insisted I do to my readers/e-mail list) to other conservatives.

The concept is the same: the blog or e-mail claims, first, that the said writer has been a conservative for years and that they have “had it with Republicans.” They then point to an issue that conservatives would likely be upset about such as excessive spending, immigration, or the expansion of government. Their supposed rage over the issue has convinced them to either not show up to vote in 2006, or, in order to really show Republicans, vote for the Democrat instead. "

I am sure we all recognize them.

Free trade is fine, but surely you see the problem in selling out our assets to hostile entities like China (who has been very supportive of Iran, Venezuela, etc.).

We were all just tossed out of the far right wing's massive pup tent.

I see. So if we don't submit to you and accept your Marxist preferences (that is what they are and I can prove it) you have no alternative but to vote for Democrats?

Must be fun in there now.

Actually, it is. Hunter won an Arizona straw poll and could yet win this one. Rudy may have a plurality in this South Carolina poll, but by the time you combine the number of more conservative candidates it doesn't look so good for his longer term prognosis.

You may yet have to make a choice: Which will it be FReeper, a conservative or a democrat?

"Hey we were told that Rudy had no chance in SC. He won."

What a twisted lie!

He 'won' 19% of the vote in a straw poll in SC's most liberal county. He would not have taken a single additional vote there either, even if the field had narrowed. You can call that a win if lying doesn't make you feel too retched.

Not so. The simi-active level is probably around 70,000, but the active level is more like 10,000

The FRiberals are using textbook leftist projection to try to defend the FACT that Rudy is as far left as Hillary and Obama on social issues.

I have been living in this area since 1989(Moved up from Texas).

I knew that eventually somebody with personal experience would speak up.

Lots of folks have moved here from up north. Last few years a LOT of folks have moved here from Mexico. One group tends to vote GOP and the other group "no halbla ingles".

IOW, it ain't what it used to be. The common whizdumb is out of date.

The Chamber of Commerce crowd is about half RINO and half Democrat. Fortunately, they are not yet at least, the majority in South Carolina and certainly not in Greenville & Spartanburg counties.

Shocks the hell out of me. Liberals love to use people at others' expense. RINOs are only different in that they don't want to pay the taxes that result from their habits.

Good morning, TheGrayGhost. I turned off the computer last night before seeing you had replied. Now that I see the person behind your "screenname", I am humbled and honored to have met you, and terribly sorry for doubting you in any way. Please accept my most sincere apology for that.

I was born into a family who, like yours, honorably served in the military. My grandfather was an infantryman in WW I. He was in France during WWI and received permanent lung damage from a gas attack. He had seven sons and all of them joined the military, with four serving during WW II. Two of my uncles were Marines, two served in the U.S. Army, two served in the U.S. Navy, and one in the U.S. Air Corps. One uncle also fought in Korea.

I never knew one of my uncles. He was a 22 year old Marine killed on Iwo Jima.

You and I both honor and respect the military and their families. We know the sacrifices that have been and are being made right to this very day.

I agree with you regarding Giuliani. I'm not on the Giuliani bandwagon and never will be. But by God, when it comes time to vote and our options are still Hillary vs Giuliani, you can bet your bottom dollar that I WILL VOTE, and I will vote for Giuliani.....or I should say I will consider my vote for Giuliani as being a vote AGAINST Hillary. Hillary or any other full-fledged Democrat who gets the Dem nomination. But one thing I will NOT do is NOT vote. Those who sat out the last election based on whatever their favorite issue(s) were helped the Dems gain control. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. I was taught that that is a stupid thing to do. ;)

The Ostrich when placing it's head in the sand does not avoid being eaten by the dingo. Rudy will be torn apart by the Neocom media and the presidency will be handed over to the Socialist in '08. It's not election season just because the Communist say it is. Sit back, watch, listen, and wait for the cream to rise.
