were they forsaken when Reagan gave them 2 pro-Roe SCOTUS appointments?

so long as there is a group of people who think a Rudy presidency will mean the ATF is kicking down every door in the US, taking out all the guns, handing out free coupons for abortion clinics to all the women, and forcing all the men to wear evening gowns - there can't be much serious debate on this issue.

Not from what I have heard from a fair number of them. Rudy's candidacy has allowed them to express their loathing for social conservative issues.

No, you guys suffer from Napoleonic complex.

I could support any of the candidates with no problem except for McCain.

You worry too much about litmus tests and bedroom issues but not enough about winning....winning is everything. Winning eventually gets you where you want to go.

Social conservatives will be in for a big shock over the next few election cycles IMHO.

Post it; you're bound to be quoting it out of context.

I love it. You are reduced to quibbling about CONTEXT. You said it. We all saw it. And now you are backpeddling to "context".

Enjoy the good showing by Hunter!

Ignore the Rudy bots and their media accomplices who are trying to spoil our good news, and be happy!

Tomorrow we continue to move forward, and use this to promote the only real choice for American conservatism.

You didn't deny my point. I have seen plenty of loathing of socons on FR lately.

And I am concerned about winning. Liberal pubbies don't win the White House.

I don't see how Rudy's views are that different from Bush Sr. at the start of the 1988 campaign. Both were/are RINOs.

And Reagan was called a RINO by the "true conservatives" for choosing Bush Sr. as his running mate.

*Huckabee's a religious Republican who the MSM doesn't hate for some reason*

The reason is he is pro amnesty.
We tax payers here in Calif. are tired of seeing an ave. of 3 billion a year here supporting the illegals.
California is the HMO for Mexico including we pay the premiums

Oh, that is hilarious. The LEAD BULLY on FR complaining about the fact that she now has to take it instead of just dishing it out!

Good for Hunter; maybe he could be on the VP ticket.

Water and oil don't mix too well.

Rudy doing well in the Bible Belt is a good sign.

123 votes isn't exactly a fair sample of the "Bible Belt"

This wasn't South Carolina as a whole though. This was Spartanburg County. It is part of the Upstate, but the power structure of the GOP there is a little different and a little more liberal in some aspects (though perhaps more conservative in others).

In any event, McCain not coming in first or second isn't too surprising. It's actually better than I expected. He has major baggage here due to things he said the last time he came through.
