You're the one who lies to further your agenda.

Point out my lies, Howlin.

Don't put words in my mouth, little man.

Those were your own words, Howlin. And true to form, you deny them now.

You've been like a raving lunatic on these threads. Try not to be such a Nancy boy.

Try not to deny your own words, Howlin. You act like we can't look them up.

George Bush Sr. in 1988.

On Reagan's coattails.

Once he had his own record, he split the party.

So many here seem to think we have to automatically like Hunter due to his "conservative convictions".

Be critical of him, waste your time on a 1%.. show us your good stuff.. ggrrrrr

"But he is a law and order conservative."

The libertarian in me can see that as being a problem, depending on how you go about applying law to the order. Rudy didn't seem to have a problem with VERY aggressive gun control in NYC as a means of maintaining 'law and order'. I'm no fan of failed the war on drugs either. If he goes after terrorists and secures the border, those are issues I would support him on.

Right now I just can't see myself voting for Rudy, but I am at least willing to hear him out. As far as I'm concerned he has a alot of explaining to do.....

Those were not my words.

My words were people like you are all over this forum telling people they can't vote for who they want to.

You look more and more desperate every day.

"Doing well" is a relative term. I would say Rudy did not meet expectations considering his tremendously high profile.

On Reagan's coattails.

And running against a moonbat like Dukakis, which any Republican nominee would be up against in 2008 whether it's Hillary or Obama.

Yes, you are right, but sometimes when the man has huge star power, a simple appearance can be a lot to compete with. In any event, it's very hard to tell too much from this at this point.

In your world view, probably Eisenhower and at least Bush pere were "lefties." But you know, the nation changes, each candidate is unique as a person, the issues are different in each election cycle, and there are really too few data points, to rely on any such historical analysis. So we are left with looking for polls where the Rudy is beyond the pale for some Pubbies, and they won't vote for him in a matchup with Hilary or Edwards or Obama after being informed of his "heretical" views, and an assessment of the candidate's abilities as to presentation. I think Rudy's presentation is excellent, but hey, the season is young, and he has to run a lot of laps. Nothing is in stone.

I didn't think he would win this straw poll, from all the predictions here on the F.R. So many have said the South would not accept him and S.C. would be an enormous hurdle etc so I thought he might come in 3rd or less. I had anticipated Romney, McCain, Hunter at the top.

I see you and Peach are into your denial of your own posts routine again. Do you deny saying that abortion rights and gun rights folks were a boot on your neck? I want that for the record here.

I don't know if there's a Gallup poll, but there is a Washington Post poll showing 20% of Republicans say there is "no chance" they will vote for Giuliani because of his position on abortion and homosexual rights. A full 40% say they are "less likely". Here is the operative data:

Giuliani faces potential problems because of his views on abortion and gay rights. More than four in 10 Republicans said they were less likely to support him because of those views. More than two in 10 Republicans said there was "no chance" they would vote for him.

Here is the link
