Yes, yes, Professor, uh huh...

Guilt - always dependable.
A constant companion, along with his buddy Resentment.

I was surprised Sunday night to see that, while An Inconvenient Truth won Best Documentary, the statue went to director Davis Guggenheim. During his thank you speech, Guggenheim let Al hold the statue. Tipper won't have to worry about dusting the Oscar. It's at the Guggenheims. All Al got was a photo op.
The Departed won Best Picture, Oscar going to Martin Scorsese, who won a second Oscar for Best Director. Does anyone think Leonardo DiCaprio won an Oscar because his movie was honored? At least he was nominated for his acting.

Perhaps you could sell that line to a company that makes fortune cookies.

Speaking of the 0.8C increase in tempeatures in the last century, did you know that the agencies that keep track of these global temperatures have been adjusting all of the older temperatures DOWN and the newer temperatures UP.
Here is a graph showing how much they have MANIPULATED the temperature trend - changing it by 0.5C - in other words, you can't even believe the numbers saying it is warming.

Here is another good one, this is the UNADJUSTED US temperature record, showing that 1934, 1921, 1931 were the record temperatures, not every year that comes along as they are spinning it now.

The global temperature has actually DECREASED since 1998.

Besides models, their theory incorporates ice core studies, biological proxies, and standard principles of chemistry and physics.
Please. These people are not credible! Models and theories can be manipulated to yield whatever you would like. Their whole approach - "how to answer a skeptic" - demonstrates to anyone paying attention that they are not interested in science or truth; only the defense of their climate crisis scenario. Their approach is political, not scientific. I am not impressed.

"How to answer a skeptic" articulates their positions well for science-lite people like myself, and their motives don't matter to me. Just the boiled down facts for me, please.
Do you have any specific points you disagree with them on?

The temperature has gone down since 1998 according to the actual temperature records (thermometer readings for example) but not according to GISS which is the agency of record when it comes to global temperatures for the US.
According to GISS, 2005 was the warmest year (but of course 1934 actually was before they started playing with the data.) The Hadley Centre shows temperatures down but not James Hansen and the GISS.

It's Punxsutawney, not Punxatawney. I assume you make reference to Al Bore, which is an insult to Phil.

It appears that we have a waiting line to buy Algore's carbon credits. After all, somebody needs to pay for his heating his pool.

I've seen that said several times, and not just here. Is there a source for that?

"They said that warming in the "way back" caused an increase in CO2 which in turn caused more warming via GH effect, and that CO2 caused most of the "ultimate change"."
So what? It makes no difference. The increase of CO2 is still 95+% natural, or beyond the ability of man to stop it.
The change is still triggered by the sun, or by catastrophic events such as volcanic activity.
