Fervent prayers for the students in the High School. It's sounding very bad.

When I got back from VN I was stationed at Fort Wolters and we got our time in TH-55's. Used to fly down to Stephenville for chili at the airport then fly home. Thought we were in the high cotton when we got some old TH-13T's to fly then the OH-58's in about 1972.

But Newspaper Report calling into Shep is saying that they don't know how many kids are still trapped in that High School. Very hard to get to the kids..It's pandemonium.

Gym roof collapsed..It looks like a bomb was dropped on that High School.

There were 1200 kids at that High School..

OMG...

No reports of how many kids are hurt, an eyewitness says that kids are cut and being taken to hospital, debris & pandemonium everywhere. School population is about 1200 students.

How are the kids and the teachers and other workers at the High School?

Prayers going up for all in the path of these storms.

"I hope the Boll Weavil statue is Okay. "

The only statue in the world honoring an insect.

"Storms all over Alabama except the central part of the state."

The winds in Mobile have been blowing like 'a bat out of hell' all day. Blowing from the WSW.

As you remember, the TH-13T was the instrument trainer at Hanchey and Shell. I taught in it between tours. Never even one mechanical problem in over 1000 hours. I loved that bird. I went down to Vung Tau in 70 to get checked out in the 58. Always liked getting back into an H Model Huey. Those first OH-58s were very under powered.

I know, our time is coming. I am still upstairs, for now. Preparing to spend a few hours in the basement. My husband came home early, and is working in his office down there. He didn't want to be caught driving in this weather.

They have a theme at his small office. If one wife calls, don't worry. If two wives call, take heed. If three wives call, be ready to take cover.

Ya know, I was told that as Vietnam was winding down, Enterprise put up a statue of an Army Aviator. The Boll Weavil and an Army Aviator. Good company.

There was a Sessions Peanut Company in Enterprise back then. I still want to find out if Jeff Sessions is related.
