Fervent prayers for the students in the High School. It's sounding very bad.
When I got back from VN I was stationed at Fort Wolters and we got our time in TH-55's. Used to fly down to Stephenville for chili at the airport then fly home. Thought we were in the high cotton when we got some old TH-13T's to fly then the OH-58's in about 1972.
Gym roof collapsed..It looks like a bomb was dropped on that High School.
There were 1200 kids at that High School..
OMG...
Hey there amm. Looks like there are several areas being hit hard. And we are no where close to this thing being over.
How are the kids and the teachers and other workers at the High School?
Prayers going up for all in the path of these storms.
The only statue in the world honoring an insect.
The winds in Mobile have been blowing like 'a bat out of hell' all day. Blowing from the WSW.
Via Enterprises live stream:
A tornado has been spotted on the ground in Barbour County, Eufala, Alabama. Eufala is less than an hour NNE of Enterprise.
Onlookers are causing problems in Enterprise.
Yeh but have you seen how many are going through Tuscaloosa? We are not far behind.
200 cars in hs parking lot, most destroyed, curfew set up in Enterprise now, helicopters bringing injured to other city hospitals...still no fatalities reported
Listening to a student, now? On Fox....OMG....
Yep, sounds reminiscent of our hurricane days.
As you remember, the TH-13T was the instrument trainer at Hanchey and Shell. I taught in it between tours. Never even one mechanical problem in over 1000 hours. I loved that bird. I went down to Vung Tau in 70 to get checked out in the 58. Always liked getting back into an H Model Huey. Those first OH-58s were very under powered.
Damn, check out the storms just west of Tuscaloosa...
I know, our time is coming. I am still upstairs, for now. Preparing to spend a few hours in the basement. My husband came home early, and is working in his office down there. He didn't want to be caught driving in this weather.
They have a theme at his small office. If one wife calls, don't worry. If two wives call, take heed. If three wives call, be ready to take cover.
stay safe up there in bham!
Ya know, I was told that as Vietnam was winding down, Enterprise put up a statue of an Army Aviator. The Boll Weavil and an Army Aviator. Good company.
There was a Sessions Peanut Company in Enterprise back then. I still want to find out if Jeff Sessions is related.
I believe the good senator is from Mobile.
