I just drove throUGH this storm a little over an hour ago on US 231 as it progressed towards East Montgomery. I was just hearing about it on the radio as I was driving home, about 20 miles east of Enterprise. THAT WAS TOO CLOSE.
Cars are tossed around like toys..
Military helicopters are coming to the Rescue.
FNC reporting "school looks like a bomb was dropped on it", "8 student still trapped inside"
Did the local Fox feed say Univ. of Alabama is in the path?? Get inside the dorms...
WAY too close!
Is now NE of Tuscaloosa. Signature appears to be weakening a bit, but still shows a vortex.
CNN has live feed now at the Highschool.
I've spent very little time in Alabama but one time I was at a Speech and Debate tournament at the U of A - had to drive a student back to leave early from the Birmingham aiport - so I was coming back in an empty 12 passenger van to Tuscaloosa, knowing that there was a Tornado watch, etc. Got in a horrible hail storm and had to pull over, I had one hand on the door ready to jump out into the ditch if I thought I saw a tornado. Ditch was full of water, not sure what I would have done, but nothing is less stable in wind than an empty 12 passenger van.
LOL could CNN be wrong again?? local reports are still no fatalities, 8 students still in building
Thanks-got it.
I pulled off the road a couple of times becuase of zero visability, something I rarly have to do. Looks like we were both lucky today. I hope all the kids at Enterprise High School are as lucky.

Correct.
Boll weevil circle pretty well tore up.
Fox just reported 8 students still trapped in HS...all are alive....Thank God!

The tornados that tore central Florida apart a few weeks ago went, literally, over my subdivision, and did not touch down...they stay aloft...and then drop down..sometimes hop-scotching around...
