Thanks, Jrabbit, so there are injuries (at least one). Did the student mention how many people were there? Did he confirm that the school had been let out early today?
Prayers for Alabama and anyone in the path of these storms.
school had not been let out yet, scheduled to be at 1:00 pm
Big time prayers. I'm flipping between the weather channel and the news. What a nasty cell!
No, the original. I was a CW2 then but felt like a pre-solo student sitting next to such experience.
Oh don't worry. My 19yo son is in Tuscaloosa so I am going to wait to see if Tusc has any damage if I can before I leave this house. Pretty soon though.
Oh my, that T-town storm looks wicked. That is the one that has come up from Aliceville and has been a problem.
One of my neighbors was suppose to move today. She told me yesterday that the movers postponed it to tomorrow in anticipation of this weather. That is how serious this is.
I see. BTW, I had not seen Wolters for forty years until we had a 66-11 reunion in Ft. Worth last year. Picture about 40 of us standing outside the prison wire, arguing about which building had been our barracks. What a trip.
I'll try to check in the lounge tonight. If I don't show, I may be sitting here without power. And I hope that is this worst we get. I had 22 trees taken down around my house last year (ssshhh! don't tell the environmentalists). So if I lose trees in the course of high winds, at least they won't fall on the house. In our last neighborhood, we had to chainsaw our way out of the subdivision 3 times in six years. Gratefully, none of those times did one of our large trees fall on our house. Ah, life in Alabama.
Tornado warning....Mt. Andrew....Troy
We're having our winter storm in Mpls right now. After reading this about Alabama, it doesn't seem so bad.
My daughter just let our dog out. She says it feel very eerie outside. Heavy moisture and fast moving clouds.
I just said a prayer and put the TV on.
sw
reports sound bad coming out of Enterprise high school...Prayers up for the students and their families
We have adapted to this as a part of life. At least we get Jeff Sessions as our senator. LOL!
I just heard my first clap of thunder. I am going to sign off now and batten down the hatches. I will check back later.
It's been several years since I've been over there. Kind of depressing to see those barracks fenced in like that. I was a TAC officer in those barracks. We lived in post housing for a while when I was stationed there. It was classified as substandard housing so instead of taking all my BAQ they only charged us $85 a month rent. Real big of them.
I've been watching that J8 cell, just east-southeast of Montgomery now. It's been showing a vortex signature for fifteen minutes now.
