Is Purchasing Carbon Offsets Similar To Naming A Star?

Purchasing carbon offsets brokered by AlGore reminds me of the sales gimmickry surrounding the “Naming Stars” routine; except with star naming, everyone understands from the onset, it’s a novelty item.

He looks more like Mr. Hankey to me. I'll resist the urge to post a "separated at birth?" pic.

I got my "Proclamation of Amnesty and Pardon" from Walter Williams and I feel so much better. And it doesn't cost anything. Similar to these offsets?

I have a surplus carbon offsets as well. I do find myself in need of methane offsets, though.

My family owns some timber land. Seems to me that we could cut the timber then sell carbon offsets for replanting. The fact that we would have replanted anyway is immaterial.

You supposedly lose the credits if you later reharvest.

It is for 1.)assuaging the guilt and shame (assuming they have any) of rich and famous liberals, as well as 2.) establishing a false legitimacy to build a foundation on which to defend themselves when some cry foul. The liberal politicians and stars know that the media will take the weakest of alibis and repeat it enough to give it legitimacy.

..Therefore algore, who spends 20 times as much as you on energy, has these magical , golden tickets that make it alright!!!

"But", you say, "WHO SAYS it is all right?" To which the Media, Hollywood, Academia, and the Democrats shout: "WE SAY IT IS ALL RIGHT!!"

That is why they are able to get away with this shit. The most influential segments of society have all been infected and are all working together.

Carbon offsets. Typical liberal feel-good nonsense. Only problem is they take it very seriously, and want to get it into law!

In The 20’s we banned booze
Now it’s carbon we can’t use
Then Al Capone
Now Al Ozone
Got a racket where he can’t loose

"Daaaaarling...
This Global Warming gig is really a hoot,
I get to play and pollute,
And make money to boot!"
Now if you'll excuse me,
I got an itch,
And insect or a bug, or perhaps a bee,
That little bugger is my wee-wee"
