Purchasing carbon offsets brokered by AlGore reminds me of the sales gimmickry surrounding the Naming Stars routine; except with star naming, everyone understands from the onset, its a novelty item.
It's more like paying indulgences to have our carbon sins forgiven by the Church of Ecology, as one person on Hot Air commented.
Sounds Catholic-like process to me. Only without any God involved.
That occurred to me too!
LOL! When I read Mrs. OLA the story about AlGore's business, Mrs. OLA remarked: This sounds like "Star Naming."
Cheers,
OLA
There's a hilarious show on HGTV where Ed Bagley, Jr. saves the planet with his own energy efficient lifestyle. He had to go to some awards ceremony at Lake Tahoe and drove his Prius with the "carbon offset" bumper sticker, feeling good about saving the planet. His wife flew there commercially, with, I'm guessing, 100 other people, because she didn't want to drive. His getting on the plane with her would have made no more difference in energy consumption as the plane was already going there with other passengers. His driving himself was wasteful, but he had that cool sticker that gave him absolution. LOL
Al Gore can buy carbon credits from Pres. Bush's crawford ranch and buy sanctimony credits from everyone who doesn't buy carbon credits.
Is it just me or does Al Gore really look a lot like... Jeffery Jones?!"
Looks more like one of the drinkers in the bar scene in Star Wars...
And just who or what is he paying this money to? I think we need an investigation into this SCAM.

Carbon offsets are a scam, but the good news is it looks like a great way to relieve moonbats of their cash.
I think the whole carbon offset thing will backfire big time. As the global warming nuts start demanding more and more "sacrifice", the average joe will see the elites "buying" their way out of any inconvienience.
These phony liberals are the picture of excess consumption. They'll spend two grand on a purse and five hundred bucks for a pair of shoes. Their bed sheets cost more than most of us earn in a month. The amount many of them pay for gas and electric exceed what the average homeowner pays as a mortgage. They have to have several homes, i.e., a mansion as their primary residence, a ranch in Montana or Wyoming, an apartment in NYC, a condo or beach house in Hawaii, all of which they travel between at their whim. Let these pukes move to a modest home, drive a single fuel-efficient vehicle and travel mostly by public transportation, then maybe I'll pay some attention to their blabber about my carbon footprint.
I just don't understand how people can't see through this scam. I really need to open up one of these businesses...I can even see ways to have it be profitable on multiple ends: will plant trees! (and then sell them to lumber mills)...hmmm...
Not only that, but Al is making a profit off of this scam....

LOL!!
That's a great analogy.
A FOOL and his MONEY are soon parted. Are you listening ALGORE and Hollywierd?
To a front company he owns, or has a major stake in. It's on a thread somewhere around here.
I guess he got tired of selling his Occidental petroleum stock.
Do you think algore has the sign by his pool that says, "Don't pee in our pool, we don't swim in your toilet!"
Or do you think he gave Bill Clinton a key to the pool house so when he is in town, he can swing by with a waitress from the local truck stop?
Carbon offsets are so 2006...
I've got the hottest thing in element offsets.
Get your nitrogen offsets here!
