Romney to Begin Giuliani Attack Campaign?
Race42008 ^ | 2/28/07

Bill Simon, Rudy Giuliani’s Director of Policy, has just appeared on Fox News’The Big Story with John Gibson” to discuss an alleged attack campaign that will perhaps begin shortly.

Romney’s plan is to attack Rudy on several fronts:

Team Romney will also insinuate that Giuliani will ruin the “GOP brand”.

In an age where every YouTube video is answered with another YouTube video, Mitt should pay heed to the old adage regarding those that live in glass houses.

Mitt probably has no choice at this point. Rudy currently has between a 20% to 40% lead on Romney depending upon which poll you believe. This, combined with Mitt’s very early foray into purchasing TV advertising, is likely an attempt to show some kind of progress before it’s too late.

Jesus Christ is my Lord, my Savior and my King. I don't need your endorsement to say it's ok for me to worhip my God!

You don't need my endorsement, and I don't want to get into a religous debate. If you want to call yourself a Christian, go right ahead, you have every right. On the other hand, I also have a right to call a spade a spade and point out that the doctrines of the LDS Church are very much at odds with the basic docrtines that unify all historic Christian sects. That doesn't mean Mormonism is evil or anything. It's just different.

Not that this matters in the least to me when it comes to Mitt Romney, whom I strongly support. Christianity is not a political philosophy, so it is not necessary that a man be a Christian in order to be a good statesman. I regard Romney as a non-Christian, yet I also regard him as a great statesman and the best candidate in the race.

Romeny should be very careful about starting a mud-slinging fest with Guiliani. A somewhat similar situation happened in a Congressional primary out here in California a couple of years back. Two main candidates, a conservative and a moderate, attacked each other ruthlessly. They succeeded only in elected a third candidate, who had run a fairly clean campaign.

The same thing could happen here. Rudy and Romney could unintentionally nominate McCain.

It is "moronic" to use negative campaign tactics on a primary election a year away.

I have nothing against his religion. But "moron" is as "moron" does. Explain to me his recent conversion to pro-life and why he should begin a negative campaign. It would seem "wise" is as "wise" does would augur for a sincere discussion of issues not personalities. But then "moron" is as "moron" does.

He can spend his or other's fortunes on negative campaiging and only make enemies. Definitely not smart.

You should be worried about Romney. He'll win going away with Rudy a distant second.

What about Mitt's cult? Will he announce a conversion to a legitimate form of Christianity?

Well, he is the only one that has only had one wife and didn't live with two homosexuals, nor are there any pictures of Romney in a dress...

Sounds pretty normal otherwise...

What might it indicate that Romney is, as you say, "wasting his time" on Giuliani rather than Hunter?
