MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Some experts said a Republican presidential candidate might be violating campaign finance laws with the TV ads he's running in New Hampshire.
U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter of California is running ads that feature him walking near the U.S.-Mexico border. Hunter's Peace Through Strength political action committee has paid more than $17,000 for the ads, which call for the border fence to be extended.
The ad asks viewers to visit the political action committee's Web site. The PAC's Web site then asks visitors to visit Hunter's campaign site. Lawyers said the situation could be interpreted as an endorsement and a violation of campaign finance laws. Click here to find out more!
The PAC's spokesman said the ad is an issue ad and is not intended to be an ad for Hunter's presidential bid.
bump!
Got a link to that?

Here are the current survey results. Please note that GOPUSA polls are not scientific.

Well, 2nd ain't bad. Even if Newt's not running.
Whatever happened to the scandal that Rudy's "war-plan" was stolen, lost by an underling? Was there anything substantial to his candidacy in it?
Even more pertinent is why Rooty dropped out as her opponent, in Hillary's first Senate race.....citing he had prostate cancer.
Now current accounts indicate Giuliani made a complete recovery, and is now supposedly cancer-free.
That would indicate his doctor informed him his cancer was eminently treatable, and was thankfully caught at the onset, in the initial stages (Doctors diagnose the severity of prostate and other cancers by "stages" and treat it according to its advancement).
Again, this underscores Rudy's motivation for dropping out of the Senate race against Hillary.
Even more significant, the myth about Giuliani's glossy credentials on homeland security, and military matters is entirely manufactured by his handlers as illustrated by the "sudden emergence" of his campaign playbook.
Rooty-Tooty supposedly "lost" his mayoral campaign's vulnerabilities playbook. He publicly blamed the "opposition" (Hillary's old VRWC trick).
Rooty wanted us to believe that an airport employee knew precisely in which bag, and in which binder the critical documents were, sneaked them out of the bag, copied them, then stealthily returned them to the bag without anyone knowing it.
Rooty's campaign organization obviously has a leaker, and Rooty did not deal with it?
He placed blame on "someone" at the airport. If he was so sure it was an airport employee, did he demand an investigation? Did he file charges?
No, he did not because he knew the story was bogus .......and don't forget that Rooty is the owner and operator of a multi-million dollar "security" company (formerly known as Giuliani-Kerik LLC).
"Security expert" Rooty co-opted GWB into naming his mobbed-up buddy, Bernie Kerik, as Home/Land/Sec chief (Kerik is Rudy's former driver and bodyguard). Kerik was ushered out the WH door when dirt spilled about his hiring an illgal nanny. Married Kerik was also having trysts in an apartment set-aside for 9/11 workers. Kerik later pleaded guilty to misdemeanors for accepting gifts from a company that was trying to do business with New York while he was corrections commissioner.
Rooty and Kerik were partners in a SECURITY company, and Rooty STILL didn't vett Kerik?
Leaving the president of the United States embarrased before a global audience was of no concern to this so-called "security expert?"
Security expert, my Aunt Tilly---I wouldn't let Rooty-Tooty walk my dog.
Thanks so much for the background. I'd forgotten about Kerik being with the WH. I've always disliked seeing him on FOX, I don't trust his analysis.
Hunter must be gaining some traction. Time for the MSM and the Dems to use their wack-a-mole strategy on any Rep candidate who pokes his head out and gains some attention. The objective is to destroy any and all Rep candidates as soon as possible.
You're very welcome.
It has long been my opinion that being mayor of NYC is probably more stressful than running for senate. So, why didn't he relinquish his mayoral duties if he was so ill?
I think having two of you qualifies for "Most experts say........"
I hope to God it does.
Good question---you can be sure Rooty won't answer it.
Leaving the Repub party holding the bag to come up with another candidate was THEIR problem, not Rooty's.
Rooty only does and says what's in his best interests. Everyone else be damned.
OPINION: I wouldn't be surprised if it was his team that lent their 'expertise' on Duncan Hunter's ad. I did some searches on Ron Paul based on what some of his handlers were quoting on him. I find Ron Paul heavily linked through sites funded by the Velvet Revolution. Take a peak at the Velvet Revolution. It is reminiscent of how the communist party recruited conservatives during the cold war.
Hat tip to Fedora
ladtx, is isn't only "some experts", it is "THEY" and "THEM".
This sort of nuttiness is why Campaign Finance laws should be repealed.
For what it's worth, this longtime observer doesn't think Romney is figuring on a long haul at all. He is the Olympian and depending on his underhordes to put on a SURGE now that will have the nomination locked in long before the promaries even begin. Having been brainwashed into suddenly becoming pro-life, he is sanitized and should be acceptable to all lesser lights. Follow the money. Listen to the sycophantic pundits.
That's your opinion but it is wrong.
Brainwashed? That's classy.
