WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Al Gore is garnering wide praise following his documentary's win at last night's Academy Awards -- even from White House Press Secretary Tony Snow. Asked in a press briefing Monday what he thought about Al Gore's documentary film, "An Inconvenient Truth," winning an Oscar, Snow said, "I'm happy for him," and mused, "It's good to have a second career."

Both Bush and Snow are gentlemen and rarely sink to the level of their counterparts.

More sarchasm (the gaping hole between liberals and truth) than honest praise,I'd say.

"I'm happy for him," and mused, "It's good to have a second career."

President Bush and Tony Snow are experts at damning with faint praise—Absolutely devastating in that they can make the target feel inexplicably small and stupid, while appearing to be magnanimous. It takes smart men to be so wickedly nice and that makes it all the more effective against those who arrogantly perceive themselves to be geniuses Churchillian figures.

I find it extremely funny.

"I'm happy for him," and mused, "It's good to have a second career."

Translation: Gore's first career, as a politican, is OVER.

"I'm happy for him. It's good to have a second career."

That's quite possibly the greatest left-handed compliment I've ever heard.

Tony's got a great whit.

Al Gore did not win an Oscar. "An Inconvenient Truth" won for Best Documentary, and the director, Davis Guggenheim, gets to take the Oscar home. Al was allowed a photo op, holding the Oscar up for photographers, while Guggenheim did his thank yous.

Does anyone think Leonardo DiCaprio won an Oscar because the movie in which he acted, "Departed," won Best Picture, and Scorsese won Best Director? At least Leonardo had a nomination.

In leftland, perception trumps the facts every time.

Tony Snow, Glenn Beck, and tonight's Fox radio news are all saying Gore won an Oscar. Why?

"Tony Snow, Glenn Beck, and tonight's Fox radio news are all saying Gore won an Oscar. Why? "

Technically he didn't win for his role, but Gore did write the book (or so we've been told) by the same name, so his supports feel he's entitled to share in the Oscar.

a lot of the credit goes to Snow IMHO. Arty Fleischer couldn't have pulled this off any more than Joe Lockhart. Snow is simply very fast verbally, and a bad person to be across a debate floor from.

"The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average."

And a TAD bit Hypocritical!!!

Don't you realize that you shouldn't question your betters? "Do as I say, not as I do" should be the motto of the left.
