Yep, exactly. The stench of Rudy's social liberalism became too much for me. I was hoping he'd move to the right on these issues but he weaseled out of it instead of just admitting he was wrong back then. Being pro-abortion and in favor of gun control pretty much invalidates the rest of his agenda.

if you are content with the gun laws in your state - I'm OK with it, keep them. Texas doesn't need NYC's guns laws, but NYC doesn't need Texas' laws either.

this issue is best left to the states. even the NRA doesn't want to test the 2A, as applied to the states, in federal court.

and everyday, there would be shootings over minor incidents. because in a city like this, where everyone is in close quarters; walking, on public transport, in stores and eateries - there is alot more person to person interaction then there is in parts of the country where the lifestyle is different.

Yeah, I can see myself with a gun on the 6 train every morning (hysterically laughing here)! The city is very safe now; not like the 70's and 80's. We don't fear for our lives anymore.

I'll admit his past gun stances are bothersome but he has say that what's good for NYC isn't good for all of America. However, he isn’t the anti-Second Amendment Nazi he is made out to be. On Hannity Rudy said, “I understand the Second Amendment. I support it. People have the right to bear arms.” Rudy isn’t going to try to ban guns or come take anyones guns. Are Democrats pushing for gun control now that they have control of Congress? No.

Oh yes they are. I cannot, in good conscience, vote for a gun grabber of any stripe, no matter what the excuse.

I lived in NYC for 8 yrs. No way would I carry a gun. I would of shot at least 2 bike messengers and twice as many subway freaks I thought were suspicious.

Funny thing is during the second yr of Rudy's admin, the cops were everywhere including a very visible presence on the subway. The city changed dramatically for the better.

Amazing what actual leadership can accomplish.

I feel a weapon is much more useful living out here in the country where the authorities simply cannot respond quickly.

a while back, I came out of carnegie deli - two car service drivers were trying for the same parking space, jumped out of their cars and started a fist fight right on 7th avenue. imagine them with guns, opening fire - I could have been shot coming out with my leftover corned beef.

within two minutes, NYPD was there to break it up.
