"I would like to see the total "carbon footprint" for the
Academy Awards published somewhere."
What? You don't think all those limos are fuel-efficient?

I can see the electricity bill being that much for Air Conditioning, but I really don't get the gas bill, unless they're heating a big pool or something.

I don't begrudge the average household in the least for using 10,656 kWh per year in comparison to our highly energy-efficent home that used 6746 kWh in 2006. It took substantial effort and cost to design and equip our 2500 sq. ft. home south of Houston to achieve that savings.
But, Holy Cow, 221,000 kWh per year!? That's downright obscene, and worthy of scorn from even the most conservative, free-market capitalist among us.
Al Gore's credentials as an environmentalist are totally fraudulent. He should be asked to return the Oscar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

..If using 20 times the energy of an average person gets 100 people to cut their energy usage in half.. "GETS" ?
Could you please explain how algore's running a power station all for himself will "get" others to cut their energy use?
To: Unmarked Package
I dunno.... Those numbers are SO huge, I just can't see how they could actually use that much power. I have to wonder if the story's accurate.

I own a 5 bed 4 full bath home. In 2006 we used a total of 15263 KWH. We also have a pool and run the filter for 4 months. We also use AC when needed in the summer balmy weather.

I am curious as to whether he used Limos for the Oscar show or if he tried to make a "statement" by riding in one of those little garbage powered cars.I'm sure he took a limo, but so what? The limo was probably going there anyway... (Isn't that the excuse that Liberals use to justify their use of private jets?)

My current electric bill shows 433 kw/hrs for the last one month billing period. I am pumping water for 5 horses from my own well.
Gore is such a bloated, lying, unscrupulous over-consuming pig, that just his face on TV makes my skin boil. I kept flipping the channels last night while they were fawning all over him in Hollywood.
While we expose his usages, why not also expose his ownership of a major portion of Continential oil????? He screams about our usage of fossil fuels, but he owns a company that is pumping same from the ground.

You were ahead at that point, and should have stopped.
Your math might be correct, but your premise isn't.
It is a great case of "do what I say- not what I do".

FYI. With comments like
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA! I can't forward threads like this to serious people. It looks like grade school when people post childish remarks.

He does this while he is out on the publicity tour, just think what it might be if he stayed home; he might even save more by your accounting.
