Just what ARE Rudy's qualifications that make him the "BEST man to lead as CIC?"

Just what ARE Rudy's qualifications that make him the "BEST man to lead as CIC?"

Please, I'd really like to know.

Do none of our other Republican candidates even compare to Rudy's superior military/war experience and knowledge?

"Personal revenge is a qualification to be Commander-in-chief?

No, it ain't.

But Saddam attempted on GWB's life.

And GWB got his revenge.

Oh yeah!

Now with states rushing to move their Primaries up to next February, our range of alternatives is deliberately being snuffed out and some of the best alternatives will be simply broomed into oblivion!!!

Did you say broomed? ;-)

That is one of the most convoluted collections of gibberish I've ever seen.

Your position can be boiled down to the essentials:
1. You live in a city with one of the worst gun laws in the country (which rudy proudly enforced).
2. Rudy wants nationwide handgun licensing, likely as bad as new yorks
3. You support this.
4. Supporting this means you are willing to screw over the other 99% of the country instead of moving or working to improve NY's gun laws on your own.

I do not understand why you say the rest of the country would be screwed.

Those who are currently carrying guns are carrying under state law. A Federal carry law would be in addition to these laws. A Federal permit holder would be able to carry throughout the country. Those currently carrying under state law would continue to be able to carry within their state, as they are now doing.

"Federal carry law would be in addition to these laws. "

Rudy isn't talking about a federal carry law. He doesn't like ordinary citizens carrying concealed weapons. Carry permits went way down under him in NY city - only celebrities and the politically connected could get them.

What rudy wants is strict licensing on who can own and buy a gun. And do you think he'd want anything at a federal level less strict than the laws you currently have in new york?

And when the feds pass a standard, they DO NOT let other states go around and be less strict than the federal law!

Sheeesh.

Well, we kind of got off of the Rudy topic.

If the Congress passed a national carry law, those voting for it would be those who support concealed carry from states where it is now legal. They would take care that it would be in addition to the laws in their states.

Without their support, nothing will pass, and things will stay as they are.

I assume you meant SCOTUS, after Rudy becomes the 44th president of the United States. What a grand idea. I like it! And I would make a good one. I really would. Oh well, Walter Mitty fantasy over, and done.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I had in mind that little imaginary court on the internet where the conservative defendents have brought forward the charges that Rudy isn't a conservative and the liberals and confused conservatives have already elected Rudy POTUS in their minds.

No, we didn't get off the rudy topic. The topic is that rudy called for federal handgun licensing on who can buy and own a handgun. It would be likely as bad as what is in NY city now. You said you supported that.

1. Congress passes resolutions and cuts funding
2. The NYTimes and the WoPo say his plan is illegal.
3. CAIR calls him a meanie and a racist.

I think I know how Guiliani would deal with such people, but I'm not so sure about Romney.

_______________________________________

RE 1.) The very foundation of Romney's reputation has been his ability to manage situations mired in financial crisis, politics, and scandal that others considered hopeless and turn them into successes (e.g., Bain & Co., 2002 Olympics, Mass. budget crisis).

RE 2.) Gay activists made frequent claims of illegality against Romney in his defense of traditional marriage, especially in the suits filed to stop his enforcement of the little-known 1913 law preventing non-resident gays from marrying in MA and his diligent efforts to get a defense of marriage amendment on the ballot. The Boston Globe spun every allegation as if it were fact.

RE 3.) As a conservative governor in the most liberal state in the U.S., Romney was savaged by the Boston Globe on a weekly basis and called every name in the book by abortion rights groups for his pro-life stands and gay activists for his defense of marriage. Racism charges where leveled against him when he sought an arrangement where MA State Troopers could investigate and arrest illegal aliens and when he vetoed other legislation favoring illegal aliens.

Romney has dealt with the worst the Left can dish out. I can't think of anyone, Republican or Democrat, that I would trust more to manage tough situations.

I've never voted democrat in my life, nor do I spew democrat talking points. I understand that you may base this opinion on my early posts in Rudy threads. Well, I'm NOT a Rudy Bot, nor do I support him for CiC.

To borrow another user's username, I'm an extremely extreme extremest of the extreme right. LOL!

Me a democrat? a socialist? You gotta be out of your mind! My views and opinions may not always run parallel and in perfect sync with those of other Conservatives, but I'm far, far from being a democrat. So much so that I don't consider my paesano conservative enough to hold the job of CiC for his stance on immigration. Immigration is the key issue that will preserve or break this country's culture, and heritage. I'm glad, that you're slowly starting to see the light on this critical, seminal issue facing our nation.

The real problem is that we are being offered Dumb and Dumber for the top two candidates at the moment.

That's my take on it.

I might vote for Duncan Hunter or Tancredo, but the rest of that pack of RINO's? NO WAY!

If these are the best that the GOP can field, then the Party is finished for then next couple decades.

We're being sold a bill of goods and I ain't buyin.

Prolly a banning offense around here nowadays, but thats the way I see it.

No to McCain, No to Rudy, No to Romney. Period. Case Closed. End of Discussion.
