Rudy To Attend CPAC

I reported a piece last month about how Rudy and McCain were skipping some conservative conferences.  One of the events I mentioned that they had not yet RSVP'd to is the Grandaddy Of Them All -- the Conservative Political Action Conference or CPAC.  

Turns out Rudy will attend CPAC.  He'll speak to the confab Friday.

What issues make Rudy your guy?

I'm not a single issue voter. I vote on what a person has achieved while he/she was in their office (whether it was Governor, Senator, Representative or Mayor). NOT on what they want us to hear while they are running. How many people have told us what we wanted to hear? I've seen what Rudy did during his mayoralty and have not seen any of the other candidates accomplish anything remotely close to what Rudy has. Of course you have seen my list of Rudy's accomplishments and the backup to prove it. Sure no politician is perfect but what Rudy accomplished for NYC was a hell of alot more than any of the ones running.

- Rudy tossed Arafat out of a city sponsored celebrations saying, "I would rather not have someone who has been implicated in the murders of Americans there, if I have the discretion not to have him there”.

No. Rudy has a very good conservative record on fiscal matters.

Yes, for NYC, in which that city probably hasn't seen a tax-cut since it was incorporated.

In additional to tax cuts. Rudy also cut the rate of spending growth to be be less than the rate of inflation.

Rudy's expenditure growth averaged 2.9% annually for eight years, while local inflation between January 1994 and December 2001 averaged 3.6%.

The Republican congress should be envious of that record. They failed at cutting spending.

All conservatives should talk-up that conservative accomplishment.

I did stop a mugger from stealing my mom's purse once - but not with overwhelming force though. I ran after him and grabbed my mom's bag back. Scared the crap out of the guy. He didn't expect me to do it. I was eating in a burger king at the time with my mom. I noticed a guy standing behind her when she was sitting and she had her bag between her legs on the floor - he bent down very slowly and I watched him and slowly slid my mom's bag in toward him and then bolted I ran after him and got it back. That was when Dinkins was mayor.

I support him for being someone who accomplished what he sets out to do and does it regardless of the howling of the Democrats and White House. Accomplishments are key to me. Maybe not you or anyone else. But to me they mean more than talk. Talk is cheap - Rudy walked the walk they all talk the talk.

Haters? Perhaps you should put your invective aside and tell conservatives why they should vote for him. "Because he's not Hillary!" is not an acceptable reason. Many of us are sick of pyrric victories. With few exceptions, George W. Bush's domestic and fiscal policies have been disgraceful. Tell me what wanna-be President Guiliani has said that indicates he would be any different.

What good will it do to get Hunter nominated when has no chance of winning. He can't do any good in regards to the borders if he loses.

Like Nixon, Hunter has gained many solid enemies in the media already. If he does pull of a miracle and get the nomination, the media will eat him alive with corruption scandals and what other corruption stereotype they have labeled most all Republicans with.

Hunter has plenty of hidden issues that will surface the moment the media learns he is the nominee. The will wait until that moment also. To do so earlier would allow the Republicans to recover with a different, less transparent candidate.

General Public popularity and familiarity are absolutely essential in this new political world.
