DUNCAN / NEWT for 2008? (Vanity)
Posted on 02/24/2007 10:25:56 AM PST by ElPatriota
I just thought I would throw it out there for your consideration.
Duncan's choice is NOT negotiable. Newt's IS :)
Why Newt?... Because yes, we can forgive those who deserve a second chance, and besides, he will pay the price by running in the second slot, as the Vice-President (Not that there is anything wrong with that!). Then, having gained invaluable experience, fully rehabilitated for his indiscretions, THEN, he will be ready to be president. He is still a young man so he's got the time.

"JL = Joe "perched to jump" Lieber(al)man."
I went down the list of R candidates and couldn't find a JL.
Lieberman as VP has crossed my mind too -- the problem with that is, that it would set him up for a presidential run down the road and while he is strong on defense, he is very very liberal on everything else.

Considering that Newt hasn't even announced he's running yet & in polls, he is consistently getting 2nd & 3rd place - I'd say it could be a winning ticket.
I think if voters can forget Rudy/John/Mitt's baggage, they could certainly forget Newt's.

He voted with the Dimwits on the non-binding resolution. No cojones there. I/m told he was against going into Iraq. That;s ok but to not show support for them now is cowardly.

Why does it blink and show Tancredo as a Nazi?
Because that's the only argument liberals can come up with. It's pathetic but that's the only way they can think of to attempt to shut down opposition.

I won't vote for any of these guys. I would support and vote for Hunter and /or Gingrich.
You probably have the same concerns as I do. I don't think that McCain is viable except maybe at CNN or the Times. Rudy I have concerns with and think that he will lose in the war of ideas but I want to give him the opportunity to compete. Romney's conversion is not unprecedented but has to be given a chance to be examined. Newt and Hunter are solid and I look forward to both of them in a debate with the others.

Hunter won't be choosing a VP, he may be chosen as VP, but that's not likely since he won't bring California to any ticket. Hunter is polling at 1 and 2% in some polls if he shows up at all, there is not enough time for him to go from 1% to being the nominee.

"Talking about delusions and fantasies..."
True. True.
But while we are at this I suggest drafting Tom McClintock.
He would make a great imaginary conservative President.

There is plenty of time if we get behind him.

Condi Rice isn't running for pres. but she could be tapped for v.p.
Why I would like to see her in the vp slot? She is an extremely intelligent thoughtful woman. She has shown that she is a team player and is very strong on foreign affairs and defense. Also she is very articulate and confident. Am not aware of any negatives(baggage) in her background. She is very clean!!
Plus it would be a perfect foil to a Clinton/Obama type of ticket. An attractive black woman on a Republican ticket would drive liberals nuts.

Yes it does and I was confused considering your tagline. You may not love Tancredo but anyone supporting Hunter isn't likely to call Tancredo a Nazi.

I like that pairing .. because while Duncan can speak to today's issues .. Newt is great at TEACHING HISTORY'S LESSONS .. history the public does not get to hear enough of.
Duncan is my rep, but I've heard from a fairly reliable source that once Duncan becomes a liability to the dems' chances of winning the WH, there are some skelatons in Duncan's closet which will likely be revealed.
I don't know what they are so I cannot address the issue.
