Don't let that be comfort for you. A couple of years ago some ultra libs in the medical community in Scotland called for a ban on knives to include some kitchen knives. Everyone, even the Scots, made fun of them.

Now, toting a knife around in Scotland is a serious offense punishable with imprisonment.

For the socialists and their bed-buddies the Islamists, it's all about baby steps. Announce it, let people get all their shouting and foot stamping over with, then enact the legislation.

I believe a ban on criticism of Islam was toppled, when even Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) came out against it. It's not as bad as it seems. Such measures would almost certainly create a furor not seen before.

I know plenty of Muslims who would oppose this kind of thing heart and soul over here. That kind of crap is exactly what they came to America to get away from. The fact that a Muslim org can propose that kind of thing over there without a Muslim backlash suggest that things are already very different there.
