Lately, being the preferred Freeper candidate hasn't exactly been a good thing. Most of the Freeper favorites (Santorum, Allen, others) got obliterated in election 2006.

Indeed, Allen was the preferred presidential candidate around these parts. Then he fell on his ass and won't ever get up.

The FR-Reality disconnect grows.

Id fasten your seat belt too, its going to get real bumpy here over the next several months;-)

What was with that?? Why wasn't he man enough to stand up to the "macaca" thing?

Jeez...he just whimpered away like a kicked puppy.

Golly...if he had just stood up and said, "SHUT UP!" there would have been a testosterone rush.

There must have been something more behind such a spectacular collapse.

If Hunter's poll numbers steadily remain low (1%). OK, let's be generous and give him 5% support by the end of the summer. At that rate he'll be dropping out of the race long before the primaries even begin. And we know that Newt won't be running if Rudy's polls numbers remain strong.

Mark my words.

Soooo, what are you saying--we should stop boosting conservatives because they lose elections sometimes? It wasn't for nothing that the Democrats worked so hard and spent so much money to knock those two out. To be honest, however, I never really saw either of them as particularly strong presidential material.

The FR-Reality disconnect grows.

Really? Care to explain to me how a Northeast liberal Yankee gun-grabber is going to win all those red states in the south? I'm genuinely curious to hear your take on it.
