That's one of the shorter campaigns I can remember. Do you think he just wanted the title of "former presidential candidate"?

And Hillary picks up one FBI file, puts a check mark on it and cackles gleefully.

Well, that means someone else's poll numbers will go up one tenth of one percent.

His candidacy was rather like having a dime deep in one's pocket: hardly noticeable, not worth much, and its absence won't be missed.

Vilsack Expected to Drop Out of 2008 Race
Former Gov. Tom Vilsack (D-Iowa) is expected to drop out of the 2008 presidential race on Friday with an announcement set for later in the day, according to sources both in Washington and Iowa.
Former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack is expected to withdraw from the presidential race.
Vilsack served as governor for eight years -- leaving office earlier this year. It was not immediately clear whether he would throw his support behind any of the remaining candidates.

You got that right, the first of many.

- Presidential candidate Tom Vilsack . . . not a lot of name recognition. I dont want to say that Tom is unknown, but his secret service codename is Tom Vilsack.
- Be honest. Before you came here today, how many had heard the name Vilsack? How many thought it was a pickle?

Iowa Dems were not supporting him. His "Hail Mary" pass to cut off funding for Iraq evidently did not generate the millions he needed to stay in the race. Now he has a cushy job teaching at Drake Law School and can pretend to play kingmaker in the Iowa Caucuses.
