Expect a recall election if he does - he ran on the pledge to caucus with the Dims, and many Connecticutians voted for him only because of that.

Senators can't be recalled.

I agree, I really don't see why people are pushing impeachment. There are no grounds to do so.

"I'm operating with a slightly unfair advantage - I did study the subject at university; most people don't do that, both in Britain and America. "

You would think that congress would consider it their operations manual! It is that pesky problem instead.

We used to study the constitution in school (middle and high) when I was in school. Now I admit that was at least 1000 years ago, but you would think they would at least wave at it now.

I think the Left doesn't want you to study the Constitution, because of the huge disparity between what the Constitution states and what is actually happening. Furthermore, history is being wiped out - I've encountered a few Americans for whom many of their Presidents are a mystery. Mention Franklin Pierce to someone and a blank stare will ensue.

It's true, if they can't get a useless non-binding resolution to pass what makes them think this ridiculous POS idea has a snowball's chance?

Congress is the legislative branch, not in charge of the armed forces or foreign policy, which is the purview of the executive branch. They can certainly cut the budget, as they hold the purse strings, but they are not empowered to assault the arrangements as written down in the Constitution.

" Thanks alot to the " Stay home voters " who stayed home to " teach the Republicans a lesson ".

Seeing the number of RINO's stepping out of the closet lately, I don't see how it made any difference what voters did.

I'd say- "thanks to a bunch of back stabbing RINO's who lied about who they were and what they stood for when they ran for office as a Republican"

Put the blame where it belongs.

Yup, they're trying to micro-manange the war. This anti-constitutional power grab is a non-starter. Go ahead try to cut off funds, leave our tropps vulnerable. These anti-War Dems are driving their party of the cliff.

"If this move works, they should next revisit the declaration of war against Mexico, maybe rescind that and apologize to Mexico for invading them."

Haven't they already done that? Mexifornia, complete with free education, welfare, and medical care is a reparation gift isn't it? All that's missing is Nazi Pelotski standing at a podium and handing an official letter of apology over to the president of Mexico.

Of course you are absolutely right. The left has so infiltrated all the schools, from school boards on down to the teachers union, that the slip and slide leftwards was inevitable. Why teach truth, when you have an agenda?

I had a brief discussion with a woman from my church. She was bemoaning the prayer said in a school and I pointed out to her that it wasn't unconstitutional. She could not discuss it further with me as she had absolutely no knowledge of the topic. It was sort of an "is too, is too, is too...." type of discussion which ended when I said "where?" I will grant you I probably have 20 years on her, which means I *probably* have a much better education.

It was humiliating for her, as her husband is a politico who was working for Al Gore at the time.

Of course it's not unconstitutional. The separation of church and statement amendment is there to prevent the establishment of a national church, as a good many Americans had run away from the established Anglican church in England (good idea, to an extent) - the liberals forget the part where prohibiting free exercise of religion is also forbidden.

Secondly, invoking God has not been taboo for a very long time. FDR's speech on D-Day was more of a prayer than a political tract.

This title tells the REAL agenda of the democrats - nothing is really about the war, or democrats concerns but 1 issue - it's ALL about their Hatred for President Bush and LIMITING HIS AUTHORITY as President of this great land!
I hope Republicans in the senate cut them off where the sun doesn't shine! Have you noticed that all this congress has done since the dems took office is try to get the ^&* out of Iraq! They need to be fired for NOT doing their jobs....

We are getting dangerously near the point where the Democrats might attempt a military coup and take over the White House and Congress.

Mercenary troops from Pakistan or Norway or some other Blue-helmet soldiers would have to be imported, but it is a very real possibility.

I am perfectly serious.

Probably they have already apologized to Mexico, or tried to. Clinton went to Uganda to apologize for slavery, although it is not likely that any Ugandans ended up as slaves in the United States. I don't know if we have apologized to Canada for the burning of York during the War of 1812, or to Japan for invading Okinawa, or to Spain for declaring war in 1898...but give them time. America is guilty of everything and must apologize for everything.

The sack of Rome? America's fault.

"- the liberals forget the part where prohibiting free exercise of religion is also forbidden"

Ding ding ding ding ding ding!!!!!!

We have a winner!!!!! The liberals have taken freedom of religion and freedom of speech and turned it into "the right to control religion" and "the right to not be offended". Personally, I do my best to annoy them on both counts.
8-)

The president should simply ignore these ridiculous ploys because their methods are unconstitutional.
