Don't drink the Rudy-flavored Kookaid. There is a conservative in the race...

Now, now, we need to remember that not everyone WANTS a conservative president.

Thanks for the ping.

"It takes a determined fiscal leader to make the kind of transformation he achieved as Mayor of New York – and his record speaks for itself."

National defense and fiscal conservatism, the stuff of Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan.

What SPECIFICALLY did Rudy do that he can take credit for?

Marc Rich, Pincus Green case

It was in 1983 that Giuliani indicted financiers Marc Rich and Pincus Green on charges of tax evasion and making illegal oil deals with Iran during the hostage crisis, in one of the first cases in which the RICO Act was employed in a non-organized crime case. Rich and Green fled the United States to avoid prosecution; both were eventually pardoned by President Bill Clinton in 2001

We were discussing the NYC economy while Rudy was mayor, how does an indictment from a decade before his election figure into this?

You asked a question about New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani's Conservative Fiscal Record: 1993-2001. He's the answer:

http://www.nationalreview.com/murdock/chart_murdock02-13-07.html

As to your comment that Hillary will take credit for anything with regard to the economy, (forgive me if I'm laughing so hard I make typos) that will be rather difficult for her given that she and her party have talked about the lousy economy ever since Bush took office.

BTW, I wasn't laughing at you with regard to that comment about Hillary, just what a delicious moment it would be if she actually tried to make that claim. I know that politicians depend on our having historical amnesia, but really...

My question about Rudy is: Evryone keeps saying he's tough on terror, because he seems "tough". But has he actually said he's going to be tough on terror? Has he said he's going to continue the WOT that W is carrying out? Is he going to address the borders?

Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan.

The fact that you put the two in the same sentence is bad enough. The fact that you put the worst candidate in party history before the greatest President of the 20th Century is just mind-blowing.

This doesn't relate to the economy in NYC but I'm assuming you know that Reagan appointed Rudy as his #3 man at DOJ and Rudy took on the mob and was quite successful.

My point is that there was a strong economy during the Clinton years (it actually wasn't as strong as it seemed, especially toward the end, but most people don't know that), so when Hillary claims that the Clinton economy was booming and the Bush economy stinks, the media will run with it.

I know I sound like an old tune played poorly, but Everyone in the race has something “greatest” good and bad thing in their past as far as having accomplished. In my mind’s eye, the greatest accomplishment for Rudy was something everyone chooses to ignore.

In 1995 Yassar Arafat was in NYC to give a speech to that body of crooks and evil people. He was at a performance in the Lincoln Center and when the Mayor of NYC found out, the Mayor grabbed a cop and had the cop escort Yassar to his hosting embassy. Yassar was restricted to two points and any request for deviation from his established “official” schedule had to be cleared before he was allowed to be in either of the two places.

The hooting and howling was predictable. Madeline and the entire State Department, all of the sycophants in the Clinton gang, all of the UN, most psychopathic liberals and the entire liberal MSM; were all condemning the Mayor. The Mayor’s response was simple enough. Yassar had been identified as the head of a terrorist organization and as such would not be allowed to walk the streets of NYC freely. He did NOT have diplomatic Immunity nor did he enjoy ANY rights to the hospitality of NYC.

Obviously the hooting and hollering built in crescendo until it was deafening. The result???? Simple; the Mayor didn’t back down and stood up for his beliefs, showed his courage, and stood on principle. The Mayor was declaring for all to see that he was a leader based on values the I happen to share.

As far as 9/11 goes, The same Mayor was “only doing his job”. Those quotes are mine, but the people of NYC elected him to do just what he did. The only ting about 9/11 where I give him credit for as being above and beyond the call is when he told that Saudi Sheik to stuff his $20M where the sun don’t shine. As I remember then he was criticized for not taking the $$. In all honesty, the criticism was somewhat subdued and muted.

I want the chance to vote for a man with courage and conviction and who will win in the WOT. I want a leader to be in charge of my country. We’ve had enough managers.
