Rudy Giuliani has picked up the edorsement of Rep. Charlie Dent (PA). According to Giuliani's team, Dent plans "to enlist other" PA GOPers to follow suit.
Dent, explaining his support: "Giuliani successfully led New York City and became known as 'Americas Mayor' because of his dynamic approach to tackling the challenges facing Americas largest city... It takes a determined fiscal leader to make the kind of transformation he achieved as Mayor of New York and his record speaks for itself." (Hotline reporting)

Great to hear!
Rudy's fiscal conservatism and turnaround in NYC (1993-2001) has been called the greated achievement of the 20th century.
greated s/b greatest
This is the guy that took Pat Toomey's spot when he ran for senator. I guess I could say that, at least he's a republican in a fairly blue district.
A staunch Conservative I'm sure. END SARCASM!
Dent represents the Allentown area which is almost a New York suburb nowadays. Charlie is also pro-choice on the abortion issue and I think he must find kinship in Rudy.
At least one of our congressman is out of the McCain camp in this GOP establishment state.
Notice how we don't go on the Hunter threads and talk about how great Rudy is? The spamorama freepers just can't control themselves. I used to think they were about 15; now I'm thinking maybe 12.
Primaries are in 11 months. That's not too early I don't think.
I'll change that to 5 and 2 years old! LOL!
I should have put fiscal achievement. Some others conservative reporters have termed it the greatest urban achievement of the 20th century.
don't you wish we had a correction button? I hate that. :-)
:-)
Yeah right!
Lets see (in no particular order):
- Invention of the airplane
- Mass production and affordability of the automobile
- Development of antibiotics
- Curing polio
- Defeat of fascism
- Defeat of the Soviet Union
- Manned space flight/moon landing
- Advances in communication (worldwide telephone, satellites, internet, etc.)
Rudy benefitted from a very strong economy throughout his administration, Wall Street executives were getting staggering paychecks and bonuses that resulted in greater tax revenues for NYC. Essentially, the economic benefits to NYC were going to happen regardless. In the end, the "economic turnaround" of NYC only had a real effect on people who lived there. But hey, if you want to go around telling everyone that Rudy's economic policies as mayor was the "greatest achievement of the 20th century" knock yourself out. But let me just warn you that Hillary Clinton WILL BE ABLE TO SAY THE EXACT SAME THING ABOUT THE AMERICAN ECONOMY DURING HER HUSBAND'S ADMINISTRATION.
Uh, not really, wagglebee. NYC has a larger economy than all but 5-6 states. And if you keep reading, you'll see that I corrected what I posted.
Rudy's achievements in NYC have been called both the greatest FISCAL conservative achievement of the 20th century and the greatest urban achievement of the 20th century.
I was thinking the same thing. (See #17)
If Rudy is going to take credit for the economic growth of the 90s then I hope you are prepared for Hillary to say the same thing. NYC benefitted from a strong economy just like the rest of the country and more than other areas it benefitted from huge Wall Street paychecks.
What SPECIFICALLY did Rudy do that he can take credit for?
