And cities have the right to ban guns and have gay marriages...
Now where is that third party candidate...

He better not talk about regulating guns down there in South Carolina!

Nice. I hope he continues to say that. He'll be out of the race quicker that way.

"I'd advise my daughter or anyone else not to have an abortion," Giuliani said. "I'd like to see it ended, but ultimately I believe that a woman has the right to choose.
That's contradicted by what he said as mayor of NY--where he said he'd pay for his daughter's abortion.
Real class act, this guy.

The woman does have a right to choose. And we all know what choice men have: Have the child and be forced to pay for it even if you didn't want it. Or wait for your child to be killed and know there is not a damn thing you can do about it without breaking the law.
Some choice....

"The woman does have a right to choose." And the fetus has no ability to choose, thus the woman dooms this helpless being to death without a jury...

What's the over-under on Giuliani to begin pandering to conservatives? May? June? If McCain comes out strongly against abortion, he's going to start throwing bones. At any rate, he'll be a liar when he does, and McCain is probably a liar right now.
It's hard to believe that Giuliani would run a pro-choice platform and then nominate constructionists to the Supreme Court. If he thinks there's a right to abortion hidden somewhere in the Constitution, he's not a constructionist, plain and simple.

And frankly, I am tired of seeing this philosophical issue, which it is, being headlined as the leading matter facing America and its government. This election had better turn toward the big problems and issues facing America...internal and external. America has enemies, internal and external. Taxation, spending, soverignty, borders, illegal immigration, our legal system, protecting our beloved Constitution from socialist attack, national security, the military strength, our economy, the war on terror, our disasterous government education system....all need heavy attention and debate.
Let the candidates, and the media, step up and address the managerial issues facing this country.

I agree, however abortion is the one all consuming, overriding federal issue.

I certainly agree and suspect there is a strong reason the media wants abortion to be the number one and deciding issue.

As long as this "philosophical issue" (death on a genocidal scale is hardly "philosophical") continues, it will be an issue. The other issues you list are just as important. Abortion is a symptom of a sick society, and has consequences with many of those issues.

Protecting human life is a "philosophical issue"? I would say that the fact that unborn babies can be killed at will is as least as important as tax cuts, don't you think?

Exactly nobody cares about the rights of the unborn child. I hate that a unborn child has to pay with their life, because their parents can't be responsible for their actions.

It was Lincoln, I believe, that said: "You never have the right to do what is wrong".

Good catch. Yes, there is a reason. They want to see the Repubs fighting amongst themselves on this type of issue ONLY, rather than the ones that the socialists do not want any focus or responsibility on. Running America is not in the socialist agenda. They shirk every responsibility, and only focus on increasing their own personal, and government power. The socialists cannot stand the light of day, especially in the form of responsibility for the preservation and condition of America....so they love seeing the Repubs thrashing it out over abortion and similar issues.
