The former mayor leads Clinton by five percentage points, 48 to 43.

The Republican Giuliani holds a comfortable lead in the “red states,” topping Clinton by 17 percentage points, and he is even with Clinton in “blue states.”

Giuliani has strong support among Republican voters, with 40 percent saying they are likely to vote for him.

Arizona Senator John McCain trails with 18 percent, followed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who has said he may not run if Giuliani holds a commanding lead.

National Poll: Giuliani Out Front In Race For White House

These CONSTANT, USELESS, MEANINGLESS postings touting an f'ing LIBERAL RINO as "out in front" in the polls (left-wing push polls: "Yep, ALL of you LOVE and WANT RUDY!"), are as ANNOYING as those EXTREMELY ANNOYING "Head On" commercials on TV...

Head On, Apply directly the the forehead...

Head On, Apply directly the the forehead...

Head On, Apply directly the the forehead...

Head On, Apply directly the the forehead...

RUDY

RUDY

RUDY

RUDY

If I hear "RINO-rudy's out in front again", I'm tempted to apply a GUN directly to my forehead.

Actually, I think I'll just be MORE determined NOT to vote for ANY and ALL RINOs.

RINO-rudy, the northeastern-corridor, inner-city Peoples Republic LIBERAL RINO has GOT to go.

Give it a rest RINO-lovers,RINO-rudy-Rooters, RINOmites, RINOphiles, idiots, dolts, RINOs, lurking-libs, left-wing goofballs, and the rest of your ilk.

The media will root for Giuliani all the way. And if he gets the nomination, then his HOMO (dressed as a woman) pictures will come out and his failed marriages, and his other true leftist beliefs will be aired ... depressing Repub. turnout and the dems will win.

You are absolutely correct about Edwards. In truth, there was no valid option for a VP slot. I think that it was all Kerry and his stupid (il)logic.

Bottom line is that the Demos have offered some colossally dumb choices. With the exception of Clinton, almost all of their candidates have been tremendous losers. Yeah, Carter did win, but that was more of a fluke than brilliance. Let’s hope they keep to their pattern and nominate another loser. From the available field on the dummies side, I think the odds are that they will nominate someone that Rudy will eat alive.

My guess would be a Giuliani/McCain ticket: McCain is more conservative than Rudy and would appeal to moderate Dems and Rino Repubs.

Then again, he might pick a REAL Republican - a governor like Shortsneaker. </s>

No. You take your blinders someplace else. I've been here for almost ten years and made the March For Justice. How 'bout you?

I assume that this "poll" is heavily weighted toward "New Yorkers" like Hillary and Rudy, because of the source - "NY News".

Wouldn't pay much attention to it.

He has a tendency to 'pander' and or nuance his positions, a lot of people do not like that, to them it is 'slickness' otherwise he is a good manager with executive experience, etc and etc. I would be very happy with a Giuliani/Romney ticket. A very strong leader with an able VPOTUS administrator. It works for me, and for his good service we give DH SEC DEF.

"I don't know, in most cases it seems VP candidates don't effect the outcome at all. "

I think the selection of Dan Quayle may have changed all that.

Haley Barbour from MS? Or why not go really young with Matt Blount from MO? The Republicans really need to build up their bench for conservatives...very limited choices these days..

VP candidates don't do a lot. However, it may help conservatives nervous about Rudy's liberalism if Newt is there, especially if it's clear that Rudy WILL listen to Newt's advice and let Newt handle some domestic issues. Almost in the way Bush has allowed Cheney to be quite active in his administration.

Plus...in the event of a 50/50 Senate, which seems quite likely our best-case scenario in 2008...having Newt as the tiebreaker would be just great! I'd love to see the looks on the Senate Dems faces as Newt comes in to break a tie on a GOP bill... :D

YES YES YES!!

As someone who may soon be a Maryland resident, Michael Steele is the single reason I could tolerate the politics while living there. Even if he isn't currently holding elected office.
