When will the democrat madness end?

Evidently everything I own is on this list by name, except my grandfathers single shot .22

Interestingly, this list is rather out of date. There are new guns on the market that "should" be on the list.

These thugs can't even legislate competently.

If they pass it, then Republicans will retake Congress and will likely also win the presidency.

The original AWB cost Dems a lot of seats.

My bet is this won't make it out of committee unless Pelosi knows the Republicans will filibuster it.

Talking about it will help the liberals with their liberal constituencies, and a lot of gun owners will ignore it as long as it doesn't pass.

After the 2008 election, there is a good chance they will try and pass this.

It has to be signed by Bush. Not that I think he won't sign it, mind you. But let's just remember that fact as another gun grabber is considered for 2008.

It could end at the desk of the Republican President, but he is not on our side here. You can't just blame them when Bush can stop this but has said he will sign it.

Is this the same Assault Weapons Ban that was passed by the fruitcakes in 1994? Or is it more sweeping?

President Giuliani, Romney, or McCain sign such a bill. Bush will veto it.

Gee. We could get wrapped around the axle trying to analyze and rebut pages of BS, playing into their incrementalism, or...

...we could put the same energy into overturning 922(o) - a single friggin' sentence - and get _everything_ plus the happy switch.

Don't play their game.
Flank 'em.
Overturn 922(o) already.

What part of "shall not be infringed" doesn't compute? Christ!

And perhaps someone could explain this to me:

`(3) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to any firearm that--

`(A) is manually operated by bolt, pump, level, or slide action;

What's a "level" action? Is that where you cycle a round with a little air bubble in a tube full of colored liquid? /sarc

IDIOTS!

And from what I can see, it's a carbon-copy of the 94 legislation with some verbiage changes and the capacities restricted even more.

Can't post the article, but from today's USA Today:
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-02-19-police-weapons_x.htm
it is evident that the heat is on.

A look at the Palm Beach Post has the following articles in the last few weeks:
Assault rifles escalate violence:
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/search/content/local_news/epaper/2007/01/28/m1a_streetguns_0128.html
Get the Killer Guns:
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/search/content/opinion/epaper/2007/02/04/m2e_leadedit_assaultguns_0204.html

Interestingly enough, a browse of their last six months under "assault" Fields the following (culled from nationwide stories as well):
two assault rifle shootings
one machete
One drumstick
one threat with assault rifle and two handguns
one solicitation for murder, with promise of an assault rifle for use in job.
one use of a cane to defend against lighter fluid attack
one ball bat assault on an LEO
stabbing
shooting, weapon not specified. Argument with man who was using victim's daughter.
gasoline
car

Not sure where this crime wave is coming from...

Will try to come up with a slew of reports later.
Methinks that a big push is underway.

Time for me to send in a few shekels to the NRA so that they can combat this sort of thing.
The left couldn't wait. They are obsessed with taking guns away from law-abiding citizens (the "upper class" to them) and letting crooks keep them (the "downtrodden").

No matter the personal cost, I will not comply with another ban.

No more. Not now. Not ever.

Time to put up, or shut up and get on the box car.

Do you think Georie-Porgy might have the cajones to VETO this?

I really doubt it now....he'll probably dance with Pelosi on the East Lawn at the signing ceremony!
