Does this make cannibals part of the CO2 "problem" or part of the "solution"? I'm so confused.

That depends; are they burning trees under the cooking pot?

Save the planet
Kill yourself

Ha! That's good. As far as "...American meat eaters are responsible for 1.5 more tons of carbon dioxide per person than vegetarians every year."

Ask me if I give a damn.

1 1/2 tons of cow farts? It is a gas so what would be the expanded volume of that?

I would think that it would fill the super dome with fart?

Figuring 300 million people in the US? This has to be BS!

That would be enough cow farts to kill off the entire population....lol The whole country would smell like Gary, Indiana!

What about replacing beef and pork with termites? The weight of the worlds termites is estimated to be greater than the total weight of all mankind. The world's termites produce more green house emissions than man. Eating a good portion of these tiny, tasty critters would eliminate the red meat/barnyard poison fume syndrome. As time went by, and tastes matured we could literally eat the termite peril--with its storm front of global warming gases--like a fat baby eating a banana.

Beans contain as much protein as hamburger..

Don't get me wrong.. I like my beans WITH hamburger... or ham...
But I do like beans..
And, if properly prepared, they do not cause any more "gas" than most other foods.. ( Like broccoli.. )

There is no end to this nonsense. Follow it to its logical conclusion and cap the volcanos, outlaw fire, and sue God for breathing life into man. Anything less is just a half measure.

I'm sure that figure is supposed to include the whole production and getting the meat to market process, not just the cow itself.

But whatever the formula, I say, "so what?"

Remember SeaQuest DSV, which aired in the mid 1990s and was set in the mid-to-late 2018, cows had been banned by environmentalists because their flatulence was supposedly destroying the ozone layer. And then there’s the one episode Whale Song.
With the Cute side plot of Ben trying to cook an outlawed cheeseburger. He even sings a little Jimmy Buffet. Tim likes meatless patties instead.

I still think its a silly number they pulled out of their a@@ to try to shame all the hippies into not eating meat.

I really don't care either what it is but it makes them sound stupid when they make a big deal of it on the basis of something they dream up.

I seriously doubt that Owl Gore got that fat eating green beans and lettuce.

Drove the trusty SUV to get BBQ yesterday. Beef brisket, baby backs and pulled pork...hmmmmmmmmmm. Must do it again soon...so good. This report gives me more motivation (as if any sane SUV driving, meat eater needed more!).

I am extremely skeptical as to any factual basis behind the numbers in this story. For example, 80KG = 176lbs for every man, woman and child. That is 1/2lb of meat per day. While I certainly have eaten an 8oz steak every week or so, the notion of eating that much meat every day is absurd. The consumption number is not credible IMHO.

However, what struck me in reading this story was the merging of interests of all "I know better than you how live your life" groups into this single grand agenda. The backlash is likely to be extremely fierce - or at least I hope so.
