"While the folks back home think Sen. Dodd is doing a good job in the Senate, they just can't see him in the White House," Dr. Schwartz added...it was sure interesting to hear NBC reporter John Harwood talking nonchalantly last week about Dodd pulling in millions of dollars from banking interests as the Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, and explaining that it was usual for Senators on various committees to collect big bucks from those subject to their committees' influence - I've believed for years it was unethical and potentially illegal for Senators to take money from those they helped monitor and regulate because of the possibility of inappropriate influence, but that must have been only while Republicans were in charge.......

Looks to me like Rudy, love him or not, is our best chance for 2008.
Why don't we just skip the formalities, then? Let's just nominate him right now and forget the expense of primaries. /s
He has good crossdresser appeal and wins in the horse race.
There, fixed.

Just reading Yepsen's column in the Tuesday DMRegister and he reports that only 200 folks turned up for McCain's townhall meeting last Saturday morning in DSM. "No music. Not much cheering. No waving of signs or other hoopla". Former Gov. Ray was there and he said that Reps were still recovering from the losses last year and are moving slowly.

Rudy has 46% positives among Democrats! That means he could win the general in a landslide, and give the War on Terrorism a fair mandate
That's the key folks.
If we want to win the WOT, we need a President who carries 40+ states and an electoral landslide... not another squeaker where Florida or Ohio is the difference.
Close elections give the enemy hope to break us.

Keep on saying that, please. I will as well. Let's see if we can make a dent in this apparent juggernaut that is going after Rudy. Is that what we do? Take an odds-on winner for our side and beat the crap out of him. Oh, I know - "our side?" - and on and on and on.

I believe you will suffer mightily, at least for a while, for this post. Duncan Hines! He He He. I love it. Not that I am against him, but that is just funny. Thank you.

if he runs for Senator it will be in 2010 from Oklahoma if Dr. Coburn decides not to run.Tom Coburn has to run again, he's one of the few people actually worth voting for.

I agree but the new Ethics Rules in the Senate prohibit him from delivering babies or practicing medicine for pay so he has been making some comments that he may not run again. Have yet to figure out how delivering babies could be against ethics rules or having a medical practice. It smells if you ask me!

The same guy who has no interest into looking into Hillary's ethical problems. I'm not going to name him, but his name rhymes with Rinovich. And if people think he's clean, I got a bridge to sell 'em.

I think a lot of Republicans want Dr. Tom gone too! All free spending pork addicted Republicans hate Dr. Tom.
Sadly that's the majority of the Republicans in the Senate.
