Senator John McCain said Monday the war in Iraq has been mismanaged for years.

He said Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld (news - bio) will be remembered as one of the worst to ever hold the job.

He said the United States is paying a heavy price for the mismanagement.

He said Rumsfeld never put enough troops on the ground to succeed in Iraq.

Former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating and former Texas Senator Phil Gramm were at his side.

Both endorsed McCain over the weekend.

Maybe we should start a letter-writing campaign, begging and pleading that he must resign from the Senate in order for us to support him fully for president, that the Senate is a distraction, that no serious candidate for president will remain there, etc.

Giuliani is crazy

If you read the article titled "The Right Record" by Steven Malanga in the NY Post you will find that Rudy has done many amazing things that conservatives would really like if they only knew about them. His transforming of NY City (larger than many of our states) from a dirty, crime-ridden welfare city to a clean, safe, working place is one of the truly amazing stories of governing of our time. We need a strong leader who can talk with leaders of other countries. I do not think either Hillary or Obama fit that description.
