Hundreds Arrested During NBA All-Star Weekend

Las Vegas police are reporting a high number of arrests over NBA All-Star weekend. As of Sunday, nearly 300 people involved in N-B-A-related festivities have been booked into the Clark County Detention Center since Thursday.

Police say the arrests range from outstanding warrants, trespassing, battery burglary, loitering and disorderly conduct.

That number doesn't include 400 or so routine arrests police make in a 48-hour period. Thousands of people have poured into the city for tonight's game -- and the dozens of related parties.

I predict that basketball will become extinct in the not too distant future. Thug culture is ruining the sport.
What players don't understand is that if they spit on whitey long enough, there will be no fan base to pay their million dollar salaries.

They're sure to be convicted because everyone knows there is no defense during the all-star weekend.

Let's not forget that Tim Hardaway is the real criminal.

I guess there were not enough points scored in the game to satisfy some people...

The rules such as , walking and double dribbling and palming the ball fell by the wayside years ago, and most players push and shove like there's no rule against it .

What good is a game that allows its top stars to ignore the rules. I believe I could even dunk a ball if given 3 or 4 steps to get up steam.

Yeah, hockey is so much better. They are really so much better at not condoning violence.

Give me a break, any "sport" that has fistfights as an accepted part of the game (boxing excluded) has no room to criticize any other sport.

But were they hating on gays????

LOL! My thoughts exactly. I am so glad the NBA cleaned up its image by banning Tim Hardaway. I feel so much safer now knowing the guy at the game packing the Saturday night special is at least tolerant of Gay people.

Maybe the melee in New Fallujah (Detroit) was actually started with a gay slur.

So Mr. Moderator, my #10 post got censored because I quoted a Geto Boys line?

I love the Geto Boys; they are my inspiration. You injected your morality into my post?

Are you going to censor this too? And I have to refer to this again in another post?

How deep does it go, dude?

I have filed a class action lawsuit against the NBA for it's refusal to hire a sufficient number of white athletes per their percentage in the general population.

White basketball players want the same opportunities as the black players have, namely the ability to beat up their wives, beat up drunken fans, beat up referees, beat up reporters, shoot anyone they dislike, knock-up groupies in every NBA city, shoot-up on drugs, play under the influence, and shower together!

Also white players want to be able to wear tons of "bling", and dress in styles that no one has ever seen in a men's store before. Additionally, each white player demands his own posse and selection of handguns.

Let's pin Stern to the wall!!!!!!

You're right, I can't remember the number of times that I saw Dennis Rodman pull another player's jersey over his head and beat him unconscious while the referees stood by watching and the fans cheered them on, Yup, that happened so many times I can't count them.

It does happen pretty much every night on SportCenter's NHL coverage, however.

All NHL hockey is is a bucnh of thugs skating around looking for a reason to fight. I have more respect for pro wrestling, at least they know it all BS.

I do like international hockey, however.

i assume this happens for most major events.

Somehow, when the Professional Bull Riders championship was held there in November, none of this activity happened. ;)

Las Vegas hosts major events all year, but somehow this one drew in some unusually unsavory hangers-on. Draw your own conclusions.
