Las Vegas police are reporting a high number of arrests over NBA All-Star weekend. As of Sunday, nearly 300 people involved in N-B-A-related festivities have been booked into the Clark County Detention Center since Thursday.

Police say the arrests range from outstanding warrants, trespassing, battery burglary, loitering and disorderly conduct.

That number doesn't include 400 or so routine arrests police make in a 48-hour period. Thousands of people have poured into the city for tonight's game -- and the dozens of related parties.

No surprise. When the All Star game was in Atlanta there were people just driving around downtown and "partying" on the roof tops of their cars.

Why am I not suprised?

This is the culture of the NBA

You may ask why I feel this way....cause I live in Indiana!!! We are becoming experts with this behavior....thank you Pacers (sarc)

Yeh, I got out of there Friday afternoon.
On Friday morning there were more rapper wannabes running around with much bling on their bodies than I have ever seen anywhere else in my life.
Some of their smiles were dazzling though.

Glad I didn't have to stay over.

A lot of sporting news coverage was about the large number of clubs being booked by NBA pros (some at $20k - $30K for the evening), and the high level of "partying" being anticipated for the weekend.

A sad commentary since Las Vegas went way out of its way to get the All Stars game, including an agreement to have no sportsbook action on the game.

Sportsbooks should make "post game arrests" one of the AllStars props.

Does this have to do with a higher percentage of black yutes involved with festivities or is that a racist assumption?

And here I was thinking the NBA was starting to shed itself of its 'thug' image..I was actually starting to pay attention to the sport again. A bit premature, I suppose.

It's full-blown GangstaBall in the NBA with the NFL & MLB following closely behind.

I'm so turned off by these professional organizations, their players, their owners and their fans.

What time I spend watching sports over the weekend is dedicated to NASCAR!
