I've checked and seen nothing posted about the premier pilot of the 1/2 Hour News Hour on this forum.
I want more of this show. I laughed throughout.
The satire was crisp, delivery was very good.
The best thing about parodies and satires which grab at one's funny bone is that they are true and factual. The jabs delivered last night were true and factual. And Real.
I and my family enjoyed the 1/2 Hour News very much, and wish it were more than 1/2 hour long -- and covering the range of "news du jour".
How about you?
Mixed bag. BO magazine was cute. 6 degrees of global warming was pretty lame. It went downhill after Rush & Ann. Hope it gets better.
Thank you zook! My daughter nearly laughed herself sick at the Obama ("BO Magazine") issues headlines.
Yep, I always turn off Shep and go to Glenn Beck.
Ditto that. Just the sound bites that Hannity played last week of Hillary in Oct. '02 to today re supporting the war.
And the greatest flipper of all: Kerry.
Just subtitle this:
I thought it was pretty funny. I'd really like to see more "skits" with Rush and friends. More skits, period.
They could do so much with the Global warming theme.

Apologies "ALL" -- Had I located Fawn's thread, I'd have never posted this vanity. My first vanity. lol.
Oh, my. I thoroughly enjoyed the "6 Degrees of Global Warming skit." It still has me laughing.

Pookie..Is there a video link to the show?
Dennis Miller would be good on this show, he the wit and the timing.
Needs some work...they need to break up the newscasters back and forth thing. The laugh track is awful! Maybe if they can get a conservative audience?
The guy with the global warming was great!
While I got a few chuckles out of it, I thought overall the humor was a little awkward, perhaps too contrived. They had some good ideas, but didn't execute them well.
I think the writers should read FR more for inspiration. We've got some very funny posters!

You said exactly what I was thinking. It seemed like the writing was rather uneven. I did LOL a few times, but at other times, I felt as if I was watching a high school production. And I remember thinking of how much funnier many FR posters are on the fly, whereas these writers have had the luxury of sitting around and thinking about the show. The interviews with the tee-shirt salesman and with the climatologist were clever concepts, but they went on far too long. And I was not impressed with the news anchors.
The faux commercials were pretty good, but they probably should have stuck to just one for the ACLU. The one with Hollywood babe looking for a charitable cause was brilliant.
As someone else has suggested here, this venue would be perfect for Dennis Miller. He could teach the anchors a thing or two about timing, as well.
I will definely give this show another chance, but, unless they iron out the problems, I doubt I'll give it a third chance.
I liked it and thought it was funny. That stuffed shirt David Frum at NRO really panned it.
Remember the clip of Kerry:
"Can I git me a huntin' license here?"
The laugh track is awful! Maybe if they can get a conservative audience?

At the end of the show, I could see that there was a live audience.
I thought the same thing.
Thank you. I'll have to take a look at his article.
