Bookmark to read and get mad later. If I read it now, I'll not be able to get a nap I will be steaming mad due to the article!
It's sponsored (paid for) by Remington.
The old CCCP even allowed hunters to have certain type of weapons with the ammunition both quantity and type controlled.
Maybe he can visit Russia to get even more ideas on gun control.
While continuing to sponsor his rants via banner ads at the top of the page.
Remington: all words, no action.
My only problem is, he still didn't mention "Constitution" or "Second Amendment" - which is what this argument is really about and which he still doesn't seem to get. Everybody who owns or wants to own a gun is not a "hunter" or "shooter", just like everyone who owns a keyboard and uses it to express his opinion is not a blogger or journalist. But, my guess is, he will expand on his tunnel vision concerning gun rights in a follow-on "explanation". I hope so, anyway.
Zumbo's heart is probably in the right place even if his brain took a vacation for a bit. But he does need to do some more 'splainin'! And he also needs to review the Constitution to get "first things" first. With the upcoming political struggles coming against the anti-gunners, he will need to have all his ducks in a row, not just the sportman ones.
Hey Zumbo,
Why don't you go hunt with Jean Francois Kerry and get some real advice on how to flip flop? Perhaps he'll let you carry his goose, you friggin' moron!
But he, Outdoor Life, and the sponsor Remington have left his original article up for the Brady bunch to use. As I have suggested in another context on this thread, there is a disconnect between self serving statements and concrete actions.

I've never felt limited by a good smooth bolt action. There's no reason that the eye should ever need to leave the scope/target while rechambering.
I also shoot a pump at the skeet range, and that makes the old dogs snort a little.
I've been known to indulge my Winchester M 12s and 42 on the clay birds. :)
What a weennie.
Seems like Jim Zumbo's distaste for `assault weapons' is based on economic and not principled reasons. As a rep for Remington Arms he naturally would prefer that hunters buy his firm's expensive hunting rifles rather than relatively cheap AKs. Just more good-gun-versus-ugly-gun crapola. Heard the same from ex-Sen. Bob Kerrey & others.
But that view's shortsighted, too: U.N. gungrabbers have declared scoped bolt action rifles to be "medium range sniper weapons", equally liable to be banned under their New World Social Order.
This man is not to be trusted.
Hey Zumbo, If you read this:
You are a wuss who knows squat about the 2nd Amendment.
I read that as he is sorry his a** got called to task. Read anywhere in there he retracted calling AR & AK owners "terrorists"?
It does not look like many are accepting the apology since the Brady Center already has his blog posted at their site.
Rut Ro, Zumbo really surprized me with this one. He apologized later, but I can't see him writing this to start with. Most of you probably know Zumbo has been a shooting/hunting writer for many decades, one of the most recognized of today's OD writers.
Wonder what the turnout will be for his talk next month:
