One of the most important decisions that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., made about her bid for the presidency came late last year, when she ended a debate in her camp over whether she should repudiate her 2002 vote authorizing military action in Iraq.
Several advisers, friends and donors said in interviews that they had urged her to call her vote a mistake to appease anti-war Democrats, who play a critical role in the nominating process. Yet Clinton herself, backed by another faction, never wanted to apologize -- even if she viewed the war as a mistake -- arguing that an apology would be a gimmick.
...."... advisers think she should've uttered the three magic words -- 'I was wrong' -- but she believes it's self-evident that the Senate Iraq resolution was based on false intelligence and never should've come to a vote," said Richard Holbrooke, the former U.N. ambassador and an adviser to Clinton on foreign policy.
....Clinton believes that reversing course on Iraq would invite the charge of flip-flopping that damaged Kerry or provoke the kind of accusations of political expediency that hung over then-Vice President Al Gore in 2000 and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, in the 1990s, several advisers said. She has argued to associates in private discussions that Gore and Kerry lost, in part, because they could not convince enough Americans that they were resolute on national security, the associates said.
Clinton's image as a strong leader, in turn, is critical to her hopes of becoming the nation's first female president. According to one adviser, her internal polling indicates that a high proportion of Democrats see her as strong and tough, both assets for a female candidate who is seeking to become commander in chief. Apologizing might hurt that image, this adviser said.

It's interesting that some in the media (David Brooks) are saying Clinton should never admit a mistake because it shows a lack of integrity .. however, THE MEDIA BADGERED BUSH ABOUT ADMITTING HE MADE A MISTAKE!!
I'm so sick of all of this .. I've just turned off my TV .. can't listen to the garbage anymore.

Clinton is not sincere about anything in her life except possibly eating and pants suits.
I wouldn't trust her to tell me what day of the week it is...

Hitlery needs a strong bath in pig fat.
I saw a clip of Hillary lecturing Bush on what he couldn't do...and wondered what her reaction would have been if the Republicans in Congress had tried to micro-manage foreign policy during her co-Presidency. Once she's back in power, the White House will be 100% in charge of decisions about foreign policy and the use of military force.
The smartest woman in the world never ever makes a mistake so why should she apologize?
The thought of having to apologize to the common people does not make any sense to her, she's perfect.
Hillary Clinton's views on going to Iraq, Saddam, and WMD's
Unfortunately, I know of no other version that edits out the moonbat "singing".
She assumes that her overcharged womanly sex appeal will overcome her being wrong time and time again as a politician. /snicker
((~~~CHUCKLE~~~))
The election of Dems was based on false intelligence, or just a lack of intelligence.
a high proportion of Democrats see her [Hillary] as strong and tough
They somehow miss the 'cold and hard and crooked and domineering part'!
This is totally disgusting.
......Apologizing might hurt that image.........
It's no longer about core beliefs, or what you learned from an insiders seat in the administration for eight years,it's all about your projection to the American voters.
As flawed as Bush may or may not be, at least he is driven by what is Right, not what sells to voters.
Thanks potlatch -
I did another similiar to that one using Murtha in side view talking to the media in his office
But I like this one better
The media is spinning for Hillary about how the public views her - "likely voters" will see her cold calculating side and her "Taxathon-Grabathon" philosophy and agenda and hear the vile hatred spewing from her evil lips
