So why didn't he repeat that kind of response at the latest press conference? He had the perfect openning to do so.

The President didn't give that kind of response in his press conference? I'd have to check the tanscript.

Maybe the President has put the message out so many times that he loses track.

Maybe the President has put the message out so many times that he would find it stunning that some think ithe message hasn't been put out.

Two examples just this week alone;

The President does put the message out. Your opinion that he doesn't is wrong.

In my opinion he did with

"I've listened to a lot of voices; people in my administration heard a lot of voices. We weighed every option. I concluded that to step back from the fight in Baghdad would have disastrous consequences for people in America. That's the conclusion I came to. It's the conclusion members of my staff came to. It's the conclusion that a lot in the military came to. "

"And the reason why I say "disastrous consequences," the Iraqi government could collapse, chaos would spread, there would be a vacuum, into the vacuum would flow more extremists, more radicals, people who have stated intent to hurt our people. I believe that success in Baghdad will have success in helping us secure the homeland. "

"What's different about this conflict than some others is that if we fail there, the enemy will follow us here. I firmly believe that. And that's one of the main reasons why I made the decision I made. And so we will help this Iraqi government succeed. "

"Our troops are counting on their elected leaders in Washington, D.C. to provide them with the support they need to do their mission. We have a responsibility, all of us here in Washington, to make sure that our men and women in uniform have the resources and the flexibility they need to prevail. "

And that is my final comments on the subject before we just start arguing with each other and getting nowhere.

You have your views I have mine and maybe for the good of the thread we need to just state them for the sake of free speech but to keep on about it is not doing any of us any good.
