You say you know Reagan very well.
And you say you KNEW Bush when he was Gov. of Texas.
I am not so sure...because Pres. Bush's "triumphs" as Gov. were usually when he worked WITH the dems..and was bipartisan.
His No Child Left Behind program that SO many on the thread blast him for...was a big part of his education program in Texas...
He also NEVER said he was a "Reagan Republican"..and has never wavered in his views of the border issue.
If you supported him in 2000...you should support him now...he hasn't changed at all...and that is more to his credit considering what he has had to deal with as POTUS/CIC...IMO>
Thanks Tx. I think we got so used to seeing a red faced...faux ngry Clinton pounding the podium that's how we expected a President to act...classless.
We need someone in that Oval Office who reveres what it stand for so much he never takes his jacket off in there...Bush is no Reagan...but he respects the honor of that office and that position far more than his predecessor.
Boy Rodguy, you almost sound like Rush doing that what he was really saying. ROTFLMBO!! Too bad Rush does not want to give up all that Money so you can slide in there......
:-) Thanks, snugs! How was your tea?
Once again, you drop in and post a wonderfully thought out post...thank you!!
Happy Daytona to you, too!!

Many thanks ;)
I also had an experience with the IT director for CIA at the "Windows on the World" event way back when Microsoft was rolling out Windows NT (the only time I went up to the top of the World Trade Center). He acknowledged his employment in the Agency as part of his participation in the event. From what I gathered all CIA employees have some official cover, but most of them are not required to use it when dealing with the real world.
I think Plame was in that category, especially since, like my wife's uncle, her "covert" status had been blown years before by a mole and she would never be allowed to go overseas on assignment again. But they still had an official "cover." It's just part of the institutional trade craft. It's much easier to just have everyone have a cover, even the ones who don't need it, than to spend time figuring out who does and who doesn't. It cuts down on confusion and gives the bad guys one less data point to look for. If you don't have a cover you really are important. If you work there and have an official cover you might just be a normal shlub and not someone important. I think it's called double think.
:-) Hiya Txsleuth! Excellent post! And reinforced here by the Anchoress

I have heard this question asked once or twice, and the answer usually is "well, we don't know and no one can really predict what will happen; but if there is a mess then it is Bush's fault for getting us into it to begin with and it is his responsibility to get us out so that America is safe and the Middle East remains calm." Or, "if a mess ensues after we pull out it's because of Bush's failure to engage in diplomacy with Iran and Syria."
Just hit pause on your DVR, that's what I do.
You are right about the CommieCrats (as grandpa used to call them) they all stay on the same page.
Another three pointer for you...From 30 feet away. SWISH!
Hagel has always been extremely anti-Israel. As the destruction of Israel is one of Ahmedinejad's prime objectives, I suppose Hagel would offer up Israel to begin with.
Excellent points..........
You did huh? The Reagan that signed two massive tax HIKES? That doubled the size of the Fed Govt in 8 years? That spent Record Federal Deficits? Signed a Real Illegal Alien Amnesty? Ran away from a Muslim Terrorist Threat? That negotiated with the Mullahs in Iran?
All that from Reagan was just fine but "No Child" which interjected the 1st accountability for results into the Federal Education system EVER or Medicare RX, which was the 1st time EVER portions of a Federal Entitlement program were privatized, drive you to fits of rage at Bush?
Pretty obvious you did NOT really know either Reagan or Bush at all.
Great point about the "news sources".
During the run up to the 2004 election, my son and I had a
"debate" about the POTUS election.
He said he was going to vote for jon carry..and when I asked him why....he couldn't tell me.
I asked him where he "learned" about carry and his views..and he said his only news source was that Jon Stewart Comedy Central show!!!
I did talk him out of voting for jon carry...but he told me after the election he voted for Ralph Nader instead. UGH
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty......
