I heard Chris Wallace on Mike Gallagher's radio show last Friday...he mentioned then that the Fox Sunday Show was going to be making changes...

Unfortunately, since HE was the one delivering the news..I am assuming that the ONE change they need to make....replacing HIM, they aren't doing...sigh

In my opinion he did with

"I've listened to a lot of voices; people in my administration heard a lot of voices. We weighed every option. I concluded that to step back from the fight in Baghdad would have disastrous consequences for people in America. That's the conclusion I came to. It's the conclusion members of my staff came to. It's the conclusion that a lot in the military came to. "

"And the reason why I say "disastrous consequences," the Iraqi government could collapse, chaos would spread, there would be a vacuum, into the vacuum would flow more extremists, more radicals, people who have stated intent to hurt our people. I believe that success in Baghdad will have success in helping us secure the homeland. "

"What's different about this conflict than some others is that if we fail there, the enemy will follow us here. I firmly believe that. And that's one of the main reasons why I made the decision I made. And so we will help this Iraqi government succeed. "

"Our troops are counting on their elected leaders in Washington, D.C. to provide them with the support they need to do their mission. We have a responsibility, all of us here in Washington, to make sure that our men and women in uniform have the resources and the flexibility they need to prevail. "

And that is my final comments on the subject before we just start arguing with each other and getting nowhere.

You have your views I have mine and maybe for the good of the thread we need to just state them for the sake of free speech but to keep on about it is not doing any of us any good.

Hi, Ali. Miss you too, kid.

I have been wrapped up in reading the trial transcript from the Ramos-Compean trial. These guys may have overreacted and then tried to be evasive about what happened. But, the investigation was over the top. And the deference to the drug smuggler was incomprehensible. This gov't threw the book and then some at our USBP Agents, and let the drug smuggler and his cohorts skate free. Don't be fooled by Johnny Sutton's spin; read the transcript. This is the reverse of the OJ trial where the "Dream Team" defense won acquittal for OJ against compelling evidence that he did it. In this case, the gov't "overwhelmed" the tepid defense with insufficient evidence. Very disconcerting.

In honor of the man who made it possible for us to sit and write on this thread without getting up to turn off the voices of George and Timmy and Bob and Chris (and their guests) when they get too annoying.

As the article says, a moment of silence (or 'Mute') is in order.

Inventor of the TV remote dies

By SHANNON DININNY, Associated Press Writer

BOISE, Idaho - Hit the mute button for a moment of silence: The co-inventor of the TV remote, Robert Adler, has died.

Adler, who won an Emmy Award along with fellow engineer Eugene Polley for the device that made the couch potato possible, died Thursday of heart failure at a Boise nursing home at 93, Zenith Electronics Corp. said Friday.

Thanks, dinasour. Sorry that I missed the Snowman do battle with the ethically challenged Tim Russert.

You missed the point. I am referring to the House Resolution and the President's response to questions about it. See my post #319.

Hagel talks about how Reagan called the Soviets the evil empire but he sat down with them.

Reagan also got up and walked away from the talks in Reykjavik, Iceland, which is what tipped the Russians over into being more accommodating.

Plus, the entire premise that we're not "talking" to the Iranians is a straw man.  We constantly have interactions with them on a large number of issues through lots of forums.  We just don't have an ambassador or an embassy.  Remember, they attacked it.  Does Hagel want to ignore that?  And what would he propose we offer them?  What concessions does he plan to make to "sweeten the deal?"

I guess he just wants to be remembered for bringing back a deal that guarantees "peace in our time."

When democrats have copies of a speech ahead of time and spin it on MSM, when they put up a dem to pre-debunk and twist the speeches, they have a panel during the speech where they talkover (they have the scripts remember), while it's done and focus on twisting or pointing out their talking point on each phrase, when they present a dem after the speech to further brainwash the public on what they might have heard that the libs didn't talk over (if they made an editing mistake on timing)... yep, easy to do.

When Bush was going across the country, how many times did you get the essence of his speeches in the MSM? None. Yet the numbers rose, because some saw him and heard, it wasn't filtered. Would you suggest the pres (instead of focusing on war), go across the country? Or are you suggesting the WH website lay it out?

This is an ADHD nation... they forget (the constant propaganda and lies help), what happened the day before... much less than the stated reasons for going into Iraq.

Thanks for your great notes today...

Of course, I can just visualize the lies coming out of the Dems' mouths...we have seen TOO much of it, especially this last few weeks.

I would think that we should be able to use the FOIA to get the Congressional Records of floor speeches...and call out the politicians that have purposely LIED to make their points...and call them on it.

To those of you who are disappointed in the President for not more forcefully defending his policies, those who think he is a 'wimp', and anyone with the unmitigated gall to be complaining about the leadership in today's White House, to you I say, HAVE YOU LOST YOUR BLEEPING MINDS?.

While you are wallowing in your upset over how things are in Washington, may I remind you that the President has to be concerned about more things BEFORE BREAKFAST than you will have to in the entire coming week?

Might I also remind you that you and your VOTE or lack of one, might have JUST A BIT to do with the current environment? Because too many of you don't understand the concept of a Primary Election in which to do your bitching, it is YOU that are responsible for having to gaze at the stretched and pulled face of Pelosi each day. It is YOU that is responsible for giving John Murtha the power to deny our troops funding.

And now, as you deal with defeat, your bitching and moaning about the President and his party are reaching levels that I can find on any Democrat forum, and it is not only unbecoming, it is embarrassing to behold.

You whine about wanting another Reagan, yet you don't behave anything like Reagan suggested in dealing with the enemy or even your own side of the aisle. Reagan (and this President) understood the old idiom that suggests that only a fool argues with an idiot, and that to do so, creates TWO idiots in the process.

What you want, is a fight. You want payback, you want to feel better for losing, and somehow make it Bush's loss, instead of your own.

To you I say, GROW THE HELL UP!

Before the election, when the complaining was only a hint of what it is today, I warned you that if you lose, you cant do SQUAT. Yet, while you bitched about immigration, spending, and whatever else floated your bitch-boat at the time, the Democrats put their difference aside in favor of WINNING.

WINNING, DAMMIT!

So, now as losers, we want to point fingers at the White House, when the direction of the White House, like everything else, depends on how you pull that lever. So if you must point fingers, turn it around and point it at yourself.

Nobody says you have to like or defend Bush. All I am saying, is that it is obscene, while at war, and with everything else on his plate, some of you think the President should take a bit of time from his schedule to blow a little smoke up your asses.

When you next have the opportunity, vote for the WIN, instead of the bitching. You want to teach them a lesson? Do it at the Primary, and then support whoever wins, as if you life depended on it.

In other words, VOTE TO WIN.

Finally, take a moment to APPRECIATE your lower taxes, better economy and employment environment, no domestic attacks since 911, and if none of that works for you, how about just the fact that in todays White House, you have a good and decent man, who would never point such a finger back at you?

Enough!

re: grilling in effigy

Hey, it worked in the Black Hole Sun video. My daughter still isn't over the grilled Barbie though... I hope it doesn't turn her into a anti-feminine feminist, or worse, Medea Benjamin.

Speaking of which... did you see her at the Anti-US protest in Italy? It pays to be on the slimebag socialist left.
