I know, the playboy's on the prowl again... or will be when it clears up.
And I said early in my comment _ my answer to her was that _ somebody who doesn't agree with my policy is just as patriotic a person as I am.
The President had an opportunity, I daresay an obligation, to point out that such a resolution would be aiding and abetting the enemy and undermine the morale of the troops. How can you ask someone to put their life on the line and have the House of Representatives pass a resolution that opposes an increase in troop levels and rebukes the President's [CIC] actions?
The American people had an opportunity, I double-dare say an obligation to vote for Senators and Congressman who would not aid and abet the enemy and undermine the morale of the troops.
The 2006 elections was a failure of that obligation.
When the president says he understands Congress and when the President says that the opposition is "patriotic" he is really talking to the people of this country.
It's a wonder in my book that he still gives a flying-flip given what the electorate did.
Does anyone else think Katrina Vanden Heuvel and Greta Van Susteren are creations of the same people who brought us Clutch Cargo? They all have the same manner of enunciation.
Typical driveby media spin. Change the story from the truth, re: "NBC sinks to new low - network's precipitous retreat from journalistic and ethical standards." to, "Allard never actually had a signed contract with us and hasn't been on in awhile.... yada. yada. yada."
Reminds me of the time the Swift Boat Vets came up with the truth about Kerry and the DBMs attempts to "prove" how the Swift Boat Vets were all a bunch of Republican operatives because some of them took money from....drumroll, please.... REPUBLICANS.
Never a word, however, about dems taking money from moveon.org, George Soros, A.N.S.W.E.R, etc, etc.
Only took 350 posts to turn this into an immigration bash thread. Who cares about immigration if we lose the war? We lost on immigration so we should lose the war too.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Juan just has a bad habit sometimes on 'FN Sunday' of parroting the left's inane and irrelevant talking points (DBM and Beltway version) and gets slapped (appropriately) upside his head by Brit.
I hadn't read that quote from the President until you posted it.
I can understand why the media doesn't want that to get out.
What a great post way to go Maica.!! (I wish I could stop laughing but I can't.)
Thanks, samantha.
Coleman won by 50,000 votes. 50% to 47%
Zogby predicted Mondale over Coleman by 6%
U-bet loyalty begets loyalty.
Twenty good pro HR4437 congressmen lost their seats in the House.
Where is the voters loyalty to that.
Thank you, very much! I have some UK friends, I think I have even seen your picture here somewhere once? I intend to 'stick around'! I enjoy MAD IVAN's posts too.
Pat,sorry was away for awhile. I also let him know that my son is a recruiter in the Army and just got stabbed in the back. My son asked me how is he to answer if someone says to him Why join the Army and when things get tough we get no support?
I, on the other hand, have utmost respect for his behavior toward his persecutors ... he takes the high road.
The contrast in the manners and grace of his public behavior and choice of descriptives speaks to the high caliber individual he is. The contrast is obvious to the public. He refuses to sink to their level in dialogue .. however, I make no mistake about the warrior he is behind the scenes.
When he speaks, the world is listening to every word ... he knows that.
I grant him the right to some human imperfection, as we all have .. especially since he must be steadfast in his attention to the #1 mission: our protection.
I can't imagine the stress of the ponderous information that fills his day and mind .. non-stop: the daily threat matrix and constant military and intelligence updates about our enemies, changing war scenarios, never mind the tugs and pulls of a president's daily responsibilities and all the political wrangling.
We'll never know the breadth of the chilling information, the terrorists and terrorist attacks in planning, that live in his brain his mind every moment of every day, even when he's jousting with the press in briefings.
He's a grownup.
I don't know any human who could handle so much incoming deadly serious pressure 24/7, from so many sources, any better, and I fear who will replace him. I'm so grateful that he's our president and stands in the breach for US.
God bless and protect President Bush.
Gotta love that Murtha... should have gotten this up earlier, but i'm sure it's no surprise:
http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/murtha_wants_to_take_away_what_our_troops_need_in_iraq/
Note: This has the link to the 'troops living in palaces' video and contains on page the Move Congress.org video with Murtha... sigh, in it's entirety.
Laughing is good for the soul!
It's worse when a Republican does it because that gives the Democrats political cover - i.e., "bipartisanship." All the news reports are now saying "a bipartisan" resolution.
Wonderful...now the man who wants to be President...WHO COULN'T EVEN BOTHER TO COME BACK AND VOTE IN THE SENATE YESTERDAY...is shown in a live shot on FNC @ss kissing in Iowa.
If his this caviler in his attitude about us troops and the War in Iraq as a candidate...I shudder to think how he would be if he was somehow elected to the Oval Office.
