If these Dems had been at The Alamo...us Texans would all be speaking Spanish today as the official language not just as an extra one.

In the neverending bashing of 'certain' republicans we lost the house and the senate. We also lost Allen and Santorum, two CONSERVATIVE senators.

Unfortunately, that lesson is unlearned and the bashing of so called RINO's continues.

For now the senate is just about equally divided, with Johnson out for the forseeable future.

Any republican at all, even Specter, is acceptable if we keep control of the committees.

Just watching Leahy in action is enough to send one to the medicine cabinet for headache meds.

I personally do not believe Americans want another black eye similar to Vietnam, but even worse because of the impact of this happening in the Middle East. I cannot believe Americans want another thirty years of beating ourselves up and disgracing ourselves in front of the whole world. I refuse to believe Americans would put our children and grandchildren at risk by providing aid and comfort to our enemies today.

MID...re-read the above. Which is a direct quote from your post.

Now, imagine the President sitting down in the Oval office. He has scheduled the time for a talk to the American people and please don't tell me the Lamestream won't cover it. They most certainly will IF it's done correctly. I'm thinking a "fireside" chat kind of thing, all scheduled and in fact I think the networks HAVE to provide air time if requested by the White House. Now imagine those words in italics are said by the PRESIDENT!

I'm serious. Bush needs to have a real heart-to-heart with the American people. He needs to ask us straight out, do we want victory or defeat. He needs to do this during prime time and he needs Tony Snow to hype his upcoming speech and he himself needs to make a big deal out of it.

Then he has to be brutally honest with the American people. Yeah, he has to name names and he has to be a bit mean with the formerly opposition party.

I really believe that Americans would rally behind our president given inspiration and the sweet ring of truth.

Bush Dubya has been raised in a family where there is evidently no such thing as casting aspersions on anyone near one's political climate. His father sat by with his thumb twiddled as he allowed an astounding 90+% approval number shrink to nothing. He allowed himself to be duped. He allowed himself to shrink to a nothing guy, he allowed the Dems and international community to methodically kill him by a thousand cuts. He lost the election handily.

With Dubya, he is no longer inspired by 9-11, he's demoralized by the November elections passed, he's jumping through ropes to please the OTHER side, he's failing to lead, he fails, as always to communicate.

Sad. Because I thought once upon a time he would go down in history as one of our greatest presidents. It's that famous Bush lack of self-defense that's going to cost us this war, yes it is.

I sent the same letter to Turncoat Sinator Gordon. I will vote for the Dim before I vote for him. Why not get the real thing rather than a wannabe.

Pray for W and Our Troops

Great note to Norm. Spent many years in that frozen state, and like you supported Norm.

Did you email this to him, as I would do the same.

It's easy when everyone you know thinks like you do.

I always have a picture in mind of this giant echo chamber, all the libruls sitting around a campfire, all in agreement with their talking points, singing long and loud kum-ba-ya and just knowing everyone in the world thinks exactly like they do.

....and the very minute few who do not think and act like them need to be "committed" and "brainwashed" into submission.

I actually have a very liberal "friend" who thinks the conservative movement has brainwashed me. He just ignores me when I tell him I have been conservative since birth.

Poor guy, he does have the librul talking points down to a fine art and panics if challenged on any of them.

Yep, and I plan on saying it over and over.

Good governing cannot work being poll and focus group driven. US foreign policy has to be more than platitudes uttered every four years to get elected. It has to mean something.

When Coleman was elected he said he would carry out Wellstone's legacy.

Nuff said!

They'd have used the cry "Remember the Alamo" as an argument not to oppose Santa Anna.

Biden's an idiot if he thinks that will do anything.

It does somthing, i.e., it aids and abets the enemy and undermines the morale of our troops. As Kerry said in his lying 1971 testimony before Congress, "How do you ask someone to be the last man to die for a mistake." Imagine if you have a family member in combat in Iraq and you have Congress passing a resolution condenming our involvement there and pressing for withdrawal. And you have Obama stating that the loss of lives of our personnel in Iraq is a "waste." This will have far-reaching consequences on recruiting and retention of our personnel in the military, in much the same way that Vietnam had.
