wasn't there a time that Reagan walked out of a meeting... very ticked off??

LOL. Yes, in Iceland. He stunned everyone. (I think Gorby wanted him to abandon SDI and it was NOT on Reagan's agenda so he said so long and walked out. Miss ya, Ronnie.)

Hagel should be ashamed of himself. He has no standing to utter the name Ronald Reagan. Hagel is far removed from anything Ronald Reagan stood for.

Just my opinion.

He'd be less popular among Republican primary voters than Liebermann was among Dems in '04.

Yes and at the time the MSM crucified him for doing so. Now I've read some historians have called it one of the highlights of his Presidency.

Just my opinion.

But you are right.

Oh, I see the anti-war Richard Engel is getting a forum on MTP. He's going to explain why all of this isn't going to work and Timmy is going to help him get his line out.

Hagel was not forthcoming is his description of the Soviets giving up nuclear weapons. The proposal was insincere. It was contingent upon us giving up on Star Wars research. They new we would not. It's akin to having criminals say, "We'll stop committing crimes if you give up your guns, first."

I did the singles thread this weekend on Shrove Tuesday and posted a couple of pancake recipes as we call this Pancake Day in Britain as well as Shrove Tuesday.

The only reason I can see, Pat, to keep voting for a RINO instead of a dem, when the RINO votes just like a dem, is:

The RINO keeps the Republicans in power. As long as that power is wielded by the conservative side, then the RINOs vote matter much less.

When the dems get into power, as they are now, we see stupid legislation like this non-binding resolution to pull out of Iraq, which at its best means nothing but at its worse means our enemies are emboldened and will now fight harder (as victory is only a few short months away in their eyes). No doubt some of our boys will die because of it, and others horribly maimed for life. Now we have Pelosi and Murtha saying that bill was not the end, they'll next seek to actually withold funding....

The power to block legislation from the minority, to keep in committee bad liberal law, to keep power out of their hands, is a mighty power we've lost much to the detriment of our nation. Some say we can survive the liberals in charge, it will only show the rest of the country how bad they really are, and lead to victory in 2008. I'm not sure.

I've said before that the DBM has soldily backed the dems these past few years and worked to sell the dems to the country. I'm not sure we'll ever get it back, at least in a form we'd recognize. Next year's going to be hard.

They don't have the courage to defund the troops at this point but they may have to if that's the only way they can ensure defeat.

Neither is it a quantum leap to figure out where the 800 armor piercing rifles sold by Austria to the Iranian police(who controls them after all--can you say wackmenenjob/mullahs) went either.Especially since we confiscated over 100 already from terrorists in Iraq. A great link provided by Ali Veritas last week, don't have it handy but I hope it made the news I haven't followed stuff as closely as I usually do.

Richard Engel on MTP telling it "like it is".

"A year from now Shiite in control of Baghad, US Forces will be declared victory and moved to the "nether" regions, blah, blah, blah, blah".

I really don't think Gen Petraeus has Engel on his advisory panel.

Which was funny because the Dems and MSM had mocked SDI ever since Reagan introduced it. Gorbachev didn't think it was such a big joke.

Good Bye Senator Coleman.

Dear Senator Coleman;

As a Republican and a Minnesotan, I have supported your campaigns with my time, my money and my votes. Every time you have asked, I have given you the maximum legal contribution. You ended that today. By selling us out to pander to people who WILL NEVER support you on an absolutely WORTHLESS US Senate Iraq Resolution, you crossed a political line that simply CANNOT be crossed. When you put your own political future in front of your duty as a US Senator, you showed us you are unfit for the office you hold.

Leadership requires courage, not mindless pandering to polls. You failed that test of Leadership today Senator. I WILL NEVER be coming back to support you. NEVER. The Minnesota GOP put up with a awful lot of "maverick" behavior from you Senator but today you simply manuevered yourself right out of a job.

Thanks. I admit, this non-binging vote really sets me off. It may be non-binding now but I know this is the precursor for future efforts that will result in our country being more at risk. This really is unacceptable to me. I don't like to think of myself as a one-issue voter but I cannot think of any other issue that affects our country more than our safety now and in the future.

Worse, the Democrats and media accomplices are determined to help another defeat take place.

Joe says, "Take this to the bank, critics..."

He does realize, does he not, that those critics are from HIS DEMOCRAT party?

If so, and he really means what he says, then why on Earth is he continuing to caucus with them? Does his words REALLY mean what he thinks and feels? Is he so much of a wimp then to let his party over rule his convictions?

Say it ain't so, Joe!

O'Reilly was exposing Richard Engel's earlier talk that all wars are illegal & his left wing beliefs taint his reporting. OTOH, Geraldo was doing good reporting for the last 2 days in Iraq. The difference between these two are seen to be believed.
