The last thing America needs is another Vietnam: nor something destined to be called “Iraqnam.” Republicans who voted in support either forgot the lessons of history or they never learned them. Democrats who voted no are from the South and may only be trying to give themselves cover. This vote was nothing but pure politics.

Democrats want to create an “Iraqnam” to further their political agenda. Just as they did in Vietnam, Democrats want the United States of America to lose in Iraq, and lose in our war against terrorism. Democrats failed to support Vietnam and Cambodia. Today Democrats want to abandon Iraq using the same excuses.

Why can’t Democrats support America and what we believe in? Many say they do not question the patriotism of Democrats, but I do. The Democrats are anti-American and must be beaten in 2008.

Democrats make statements that this is “Bush’s war” but if so any defeat will be the “Democrats Defeat” if they fail to support the war, the troops and our Commander in Chief as we fight against radical Islamic extremists. Democrats such as Representative Waxman and Senator Schumer, who have both declared the action in Iraq as a failure and disaster represent the current Democrats position for defending America. They would cut and run, no matter how much it hurts America or our standing as the world’s only super power. These people are fair-weather patriots who support America when they have to but are secretly paranoid cowards who put our nation at risk.

I personally do not believe Americans want another black eye similar to Vietnam, but even worse because of the impact of this happening in the Middle East. I cannot believe Americans want another thirty years of beating ourselves up and disgracing ourselves in front of the whole world. I refuse to believe Americans would put our children and grandchildren at risk by providing aid and comfort to our enemies today.

That’s really the bottom line. Either we win and extend freedom into the Middle East or we lose and suffer for decades as radicals kill Americans and work to destroy our country. Democrats may have forgotten the lesson of 9-11, I have not.

You have to admit the panel discussions on Fox make the one's on the other networks look like a game of bridge.

Reed mentions a civil war in Baghdad.

How can you have a civil war in one city out of an entire country.

Note that they are still saying "different direction" and "new strategy" rather than withdrawal. They still cannot bring themselves to use the word.

Hagel clearly has taken McCain's position as the MSM's favorite Republican.

Kristol goes to town on Murtha -- says even his own colleagues (Murtha's) won't go along with what he says. Then of course Juan jumps in and says hooey--of course his colleagues believe in Murtha. Brit making faces while Juan is talking -- and then goes off on Murtha saying even the WAPO says Murtha is long passed the day when he has even the foggiest awareness of what is going on in the world. WOW -- bit slap down of Murtha.

Iraq is part of the WOT. We just can't walk away from Iraq like we did in Vietnam. There is much more at stake now.

Timmy is playing Sam Johnson's clip. And Hagel has just said it doesn't affect morale.

If the lies that fell from their were drops of water, they would be swimming by now.

Yesterday's WaPo editorial even thought Murtha and Pelosi were leading the party down a dangerous path with this slow bleed funding excursion. An exerpt....

It would be nice to believe that Mr. Murtha does not represent the mainstream of the Democratic Party or the thinking of its leadership. Yet when asked about Mr. Murtha's remarks Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) offered her support. Does Ms. Pelosi really believe that the debate she orchestrated this week was not "the real vote"? If the answer is yes, she is maneuvering her party in a way that can only do it harm.

Full editorial.....

Not the "Real Vote"

Chris plays Murtha's comments
Bill Krystal tries to be nice and says that most Dems don't believe that
Juan Williams chimes in and says he disagrees with Bill and says most Dems do believe it

Didn't catch all of Brit's comments .. but he mentioned something about Murtha being naive Juan says he disagrees with Brit and then makes a slam at Brit about maybe not everyone being as smart as him

You've got to watch Brit's body language through this show. He's trying so hard to control himself.

Hagel talks about how Reagan called the Soviets the evil empire but he sat down with them.

The Russians were semi-sane. That is not the case with Iran. It is not the same thing.
